I will never understand the Xtina hate train back in the day. This film had everything: acting skills, vocals, dance moves, photography, soundtrack, script… She was PHENOMENAL and to be featured alongside side Cher and Tucci, she delivered what was expected. What a shame.

Plus - I don't know what Nikki really thought was going to happen. Dave was going to rat her out - and then Tess would have fired her for pulling a costly stunt like that, since the club was already struggling and that's a surefire way to lose more patrons. Ali not only saved the act, but she also most likely saved Nikki's ass (here).

What's sad is that when she was little she outdid all the other kids in every contest she entered to the point where the parents who encouraged her mom to put Christina in the contests began to turn on her & her mom. And when she went to her prom they played her song "Genie In a Bottle" & everyone walked off the dance floor most likely the girls pulled their dates off the floor & wouldn't let their dates talk to Christina because they were very jealous of her. To me that's just mean, cruel & disrespectful I would not only let my date talk to Christina I would be right there with him congratulating her on her success I would probably be nervous around her.

Love the film, the whole Burlesque vibe with the hair, makeup, costumes, this scene is the hair raising in back of your neck when you hear that powerful Xtina voice, most of the songs are amazing in it, Tough lover, You haven't Seen the last of me, Somethings got a hold on me, and Bound to you is a beautiful ballad. I think the cast and director did a great job and it's a nice film to watch.

It was a basic formula movie. The story isn't really a stand out. HOWEVER, this also shows how even a formula movie can be good. With a cast stacked with acting, singing and dance talent, it raised the formula to make a solid, fun and entertaining movie.

I bought Burlesque on DVD at a second hand store when I was younger and would play it on my tiny tv :,) I watched Chicago at a pretty young age and was excited to give something more modern a try, pleasantly surprised by both Cher and Xtinas performances, I then watched it so many times that I grew tired of it over the next few years lol. This still gives me goosebumps

I couldn't tell you how many times I've watched this movie! It is one of my all time favorites! CHER singing " You haven't seen the last of me " still just captivates me! Christina Anguilla was just totally Badass! Loved everyone in it! I will watch this movie over & over & it will give me goosebumps til the day I die!

Big Hollywood execs really know how to shoot themselves in the foot. Talent like this doesn't come along everyday. Xtina deserved greater acknowledgement for this one. A seriously underated movie.
