This is the opening scene and credits from the Hanna-Barbera cult classic The Flintstones: On The Rocks where Fred and Wilma discuss their marital problems with a professional. This hilarious made-for-television movie premiered on Cartoon Network on November 3, 2001 and was co-directed by Chris Savino and David Smith. The film is notable for being William Hanna's last project, Joseph Barbera's last Flintstones-related project and the last Flintstones production to date. Never to broadcast again since 2001 and never released for home video The Flintstones: On The Rocks is truly a rare and very sought after film.

As a kid, I wondered what the heck Fred meant by the secret of her being a natural redhead. Now as an adult, I realize there’s a lot of things that could easily be not as obvious to a kid as they are to an adult. A lot of really good hidden jokes here, but I don’t think it would’ve been handled well if movie came out now.😂😂😅

Nah, I don't see much John influence in this one. You'd usually tell right off the bat what was made by Spumco or inspired by Spumco, the Yogi Bear and Jetsons shorts John made are a testament to this. Plus John's very technical about character design and he'd likely diss the drawings as too flat. I'd say this looks more like The Powerpuff Girls artwise, it's got a lot of its artists on board and it looks a bit more stylizee than the original show (plus I'm pretty sure either Chris Savino storyboarded or Don Shank laid out the scenes with Wilma beating up Fred). Plus, the animation is not nearly as detailed or exaggerated as John's works (for example, his Jetsons short "The Best Son", while having more construction in the designs is very wonky looking). I can kinda see why people mistake this as John's work or inspired by him, but I can't see it personally, being familiar with his works.

I always loved Wilma's line of "Hi Barney, you wanna do something stupid today? Hopefully something that gets ME HURT!" Cause yeah, that's pretty accurate of Fred and Barney's friendship. Its kind of funny that I think Barney might even go along with it, and completely without any sense of malice, even if Fred said those exact words verbatim. Most he'd do is question for a brief second why Fred would WANT to get hurt but he'd probably shrug that off.
