We took the scenic train ride in the Indian mountains otherwise known as the Toy Train from Kalka to Shimla in Himachal Pradesh. It was relaxing, peaceful, slow, windy and beautiful. This railway was built in 1903 to connect Shimla, the Summer Capital of India during the British Raj, to the rest of the Indian Railway. Tip - Every Railway station has a number of waiting rooms where you can stay and rest so you won't need to rest on benches if you are waiting . Depending upon the Size of station waiting room can be luxury or dingy 😅

Since this is my first time watching a video of your channel, just wanted to suggest a thing. Nothing serious 😂. India has 3 mountain railways and kalka-shimla is one in that. All the 3 route's will be scenic and heavenly. 2 of them are in northern part of India, one is shimla and kalka railways, the second is Siliguri - Darjeeling named as Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, 3rd is in southern part of India in Tamil Nadu state and runs in the name of Nilgiri railways from Mettuppalayam to Ooty. You'll get a steam engine ride from Metupalayam - Ooty and the same with darjeeling. I'd suggest you to visit ooty and kodaikanal. But only ooty has toy trains. For short rides like coonoor to ooty, only diesel engine powered trains will be operated but if you want steam engine then it's only from Metupalayam. I must add this again, the enroute sceneries will be heavenly. If you had already visited NM. If not, do visit. Happy journey

The Vistadome coach you saw in the picture was for the regular trains. This vistadome is for the toy train. The track size is different and they can't be interchanged.

If you get time go for churdhar trek from Sirmaur side it's 8 km trek but absolutely worth it.

We don't have toilet paper in must toilets because we wash. It's kinda like the culture shock we feel when we visit the US and find toilets without a jet near the seat 😂. You should mention the reason there isn't toilet paper because otherwise you know what everyone's going to think, considering the stereotypes about India. Not saying you shouldn't mention it though, because it sure will help people who are used to toilet paper who may be disturbed by having to randomly switch to something they may be uncomfortable with. Nice video though, even I didn't know Shimla has a toy train, I'm familiar with the Darjeeling one. There's even one in the national park within my city limits (Bombay).

Good point! Love the bum guns and we absolutely miss them when we are home, but even with the bum gun I need toilet paper and can’t imagine not having it. And yes we hope to do the other toy train in India down the road. Thanks for watching! 😊
