Absolutely magnificent world class. Soulful exuberant and joyful He is in the top echelon of violinist virtuosos prolly in the top ten world wide The only guy who could maybe shred. A bit more intense shredding would be Mark o Connor , but that said. This fellar has immense feel and probably reaches more into the heart and soul of the instrument . Less about ego and really milks the. Voice chakra of the violin I'm sure he could hold his own with Mark O'Connor or anyone else for that matter But this guy has the whole package. Well rounded in his style that tends bring the church into the heart of the musicians and audience

This is clearly not a classical violinist. That "violin" is more like a viola with an extra E string. And that bow hold is definitely...not classical. I don't wanna say anything bad cause it does sound kinda nice although a bit squeaky, and people really seem to like him quite a lot. As a classical violinist, I shouldn't look down on other styles of violin playing. But what I'm saying is, this is not twoset's area of specialty, they're classical musicians and the channel is based around classical music.

@spacelemur79557 ай бұрын
@@Coastal_Cruzer Actually, the current word _fiddle_ goes way back to the earliest forerunners of the instrument. North of the Alps, the difference in _v_ and _f_ sounds were fluid. From Wikipedia: The word "fiddle" was first used in English in the late 14th century.[8] The word "fiddle" comes from "fedele, fydyll, fidel, earlier fithele, from Old English fiðele 'fiddle', which is related to Old Norse fiðla, Middle Dutch vedele, Dutch vedel, Old High German fidula, German Fiedel, 'a fiddle'; all of uncertain origin." As to the origin of the word "fiddle", the "...usual suggestion, based on resemblance in sound and sense, is that it is from Medieval Latin vitula." based on Latin _vitulari_ ‘celebrate a festival, be joyful’, perhaps from Vitula, the name of a Roman goddess of joy and victory. It was only much later that the word _violin_ was used in English once the more modern version was perfected in Italy. Of course, Cajun fiddling is great stuff, which Louisianans should be rightfully proud of.

Im a classically trained violinist myself and am so impressed by how relaxed he is. One commenter was correct it is more baroque style just redneck bach lol

There really are NO words to adequately describe the sounds that spew forth from Michael and his instrument! I feel so very fortunate to have seen him play live perhaps 5 or 6 times now over the years as he has played at bluegrass festivals on the west Coast and the Desert SouthWest. Once again Michael ..... thank you for the Music ! :) ...... Steve
