A really cool guitar for a decent price, you get a lot in the Schecter C-1 Platinum. A set neck design, EMG active pickups, GraphTech nut, TonePros Bridge and a beautiful Translucent Black finish... for half as much as others like it! Check it out!!
Note: In the vid I mention that there are Stainless Steel frets on this axe, but they are not. They are a very nice grade of regular Nickel-Silver fret wire.

I got mine roughly about a month ago and the only problem I had with it was the intonation on the D string and the strings that they put on it. All I did was added Hybrid Slinky’s from Ernie ball and adjusted the intonation but I totally agree that it was set up very nicely. Nice review and demo by the way!

If I find a sweet deal on one, I'll probably pull the trigger on it. The two EMGs, the 81 and 85 are classics, and a set neck design is so sweet! Worrrd up! I went to the Schecter website, and you are correct, it does not look like they make it in the Translucent Black anymore. They are offering it in Satin Black and Satin Silver, and both have a matching headstock. The one I have is the Translucent Black, and they do indeed match the haedstock with it. I couldn't find much info on what they used, but it really looks like a flame maple veneer on the mahogany body and on the 3 piece maple neck headstock. They all look pretty sweet, I'm definitely a fan of matching headestocks. I like this guitar enough that if I can find a killer deal on another, I'll probably get it! Not stainless frets, I have one, I wish they were stainless… also even with low action set up, I needed to relieve the spot where the high e string rests on the back of the bridge, none of the other strings touch the bridge except the high e…not a big deal, just filed the corner until the string doesn’t touch… thx

I put NYXL Drop D strings on mine. Yeah, it's stable to like Drop A or Drop G tunings. I tune to B standard just cause, It'll do it. My favorite part is, if you watch the sales, you can buy this regularly for about what the Omen Extreme or Demon 6 cost. I was blown away by the tuners. I tell people, if everyone had good tuners, then there wouldn't be a market for locking tuners. The Grovers are just that good.

My frets buzzing but not reflecting to amp I checked my neck relief with 0.010 (.254mm feeler gauge) as video you check how you guitar when neck meet the body, capo on 1. Fret and use feeler gauge on 8. Fret. I have just 1 guitar and I don’t know someone to ask near me. As I said buzzing starting on 5. Fret to 12. Fret but not reflecting to amp still is it normal or shoul not buzz again without amp. I hope my english is understandable and I hope you can answer, have a good day and thank you for video.

@tinkerbell4896
@tinkerbell4896 Жыл бұрын
Word up gökhan! I'm sorry it's taken so long to get back to you, life kinda got in the way, haha! Your questions are not easy ones, and I sure wish I could have you guitar in front of me to help you out!! It's not normal to have fret buzz, although I've known players to have the strings so slammed against the fretboard that the strings buzzed a little. It will kill sustain on the strings tho, even if you can't hear the buzz in the amp. So, it's usually good to get the guitar set up where it won't do that. It sounds like your guitar needs some neck relief, like it's bowed back, but you didn't say what you got for a measurement for relief with the capo on the 1st fret, and finger where neck meets the body... If you're getting the .254mm gap, perhaps there are some high frets? A rocker gauge would let you know. Action could be checked around the 12th fret, that will be without the capo. If the guitar needs a full set-up, remember the "TRAIN" method... Tune, Relief, Action, Intonation, then noodle, as in just play it for a bit. You might need to go thru those steps a few times, and it does take some time, so prepare for that. Doing a set up out of that order, you'll end up "chasing your tail", if that makes sense to you, haha! I'm sure there's a KZfaq video on the process to help you thru all the individual steps. I hope this helps a little bit!! Let us know if you get it dialed in, I'm sending good vibes your way for your success!! Good Luck, and Rock On!!!! 🧚🏻‍♂🤘🏻

Word up socialdef3 ! What an interesting and unique critique on this axe, I have never heard anyone say that about it before! There is a tone knob on it, so the axe itself isn't totally limited, and there are so many factors that go into one's 'tone', such as the amps and pedals, all with adjustments to find the values you may want. The EMG 81 and 85 active pick-ups can be a love/hate issue, but they are known to heavily push the mids, and give a wonderful hard rock and metal sound for the start of the tone chain. Thanks for checking out the vid, and for adding into the conversation on the Schecter! Rock On! 🤘🏻

Worrrrd up! They sure do make a wicked good one, that's for sure. The best guitars I have in my collection, so far, are made in South Korea. So, there's that, haha!! Rock on Doc!! 🧚🏻‍♂🤘🏻

This guitar had a super weird feel imo... it felt like a really expensive toy. Lol i cant explain it.

Word up Kiezersosay! This is a very interesting comment, thanks for adding it in! Do you think it needed some adjusting to get in into a feel you would like better? Also, what kind of guitars do you normally play, perhaps Gibson, or Fenders? I'd love to know more! Hope it's all good with you, and Rock On!! 🧚

@@tinkerbell4896 I have a bc rich mockingbird legacy ST, a warmoth that's closer to a regular strat, but with Dave Murray's pickgaurd(3 mini humbuckers) and a railtale floyd rose, a carvin dc400, a ⅞ warmoth( slightly smaller body with 24 frets/24¾" scale and spec'd beyond belief, last but not least an Ibanez prestige rg5320 with Ibanez's "cosmic shadow" finish. Lol I actually just picked up a headless leo jaymz to keep in my car. It was new but I got it 2nd hand for 100. It needed a minor setup, but it plays ASTONISHINGLY amazing. With the SS frets and a zero fret. It has that same "really nice toy" feeling that schecter had, but the playability holds it's own next to my others. The industry is going to jurasticaly change and soon imo. There's a few of these Amazon brands.

Word up Mike Gilbert , sorry to hear that it's not giving you what you want right now. I have played several of these, and I'm not experiencing a flat and low tone with them. Could it be the 9-volt battery for the EMG pickups has gone dead, that could be an easy issue. Are the strings ok, somewhat fresh, at least not tarnished? These would be two of the biggest factors in how this guitar sounds. The EMG 81 and 85's have a legendary hard rock and metal sound that is classic and well known. For tone, after all that, there might be some tweeking the pedals and amps, I'm sure you already knew that. Was there anything else with the guitar you didn't like, such as feel, how the neck was, etc.? It does adjust really easily and a good careful set-up goes a long way on any axe. Are you used to another brand, or play a lot of single coil pick up guitars? Experience with the active vs regular passive pick ups? There could be some differences tone-wise there too. My experience with Schecters has been really good, but not every axe fits every player and musician. That's what makes the world an interesting place, no? I would check on that battery for sure, it might just be that easy. Good luck Mike, and Rock On! 🤘🏻

love the guitar, but unfortunately this video just made me realize how sad it is when a 50 yo still dresses like a 14 yo.
