She tricked him into marrying her and he didn’t like her, she is such a narcissist that she can’t handle him not wanting her like she believes he should, her unhappiness and her inability to accept reality will bring her down after she commits so many heinous acts.

This was actually one of my favorite series. Concubine Qiao was so delusional. Xu Ling told her when the mention of marriage came up that he didn't want to marry her, offered to find her a marriage where she would be the main wife, not a concubine, but no she wanted him so badly that she chooses being a concubine. On their wedding day, he told her that he had no feelings for her and that he would not be a good husband to her and made sure to show her multiple times how he really felt. She didn't care. She was going to force him to love her no matter what or who got in her way, including children. Even his mother tried to push him to be with her. (She was another big problem in this series.)

At first I felt sorry for this young lady she fell for the ML and because of the ML's mother harboured a dream of them both together. The first wife knew of this which is why she set the poor woman up she did not want her to become the wife. Which is why Shiyi did. Now she did not have to accept becoming a concubine she was to high up on the elite pole for that to have been forced but she saw this as an in to him. That mistake was made by her and only her. The wife with the help of her mother concocted this to protect her son and the only victim in all of this is Shiyi and her poor mother. As for the love sick woman if a man can't even stomach you on his supposedly wedding night then you have a serious problem. Not only does he not like you but he can't bear to be in your company. You make his skin crawl you can see it. Now Shiyi looks soft and is gentle but that softness is wrapped around a back bone of steel, very quietly spoken incredibly talented and just a pleasure to be around she has the kind of personality that draws people to her she is none threatening until you harm someone she cares for and then you see the little spitfire surface. Our ML thought he was getting wife mark 2 but he didn't, this young lady had never had any intentions of marrying anyone. This is a lovely series you can not miss if you have Tan Songyun and Wallace Chung playing they are outstanding in their roles Songyun brings a touch of class to any role she plays and what's not to like about Wallace I first viewed him in General and I and have lost count how many times I have watched that one. Beautiful drama.
