I have the appointment tomorrow and my intend to travel dates are 3 and 1/2 months away. Also i see online that the earliest you can apply is 6 months in advance. Are you sure its 3 months?

Hello thank you for such valuable information.I have a question about this schengen visa itenary.During application process it says we need to provide travel itenary. We are planning from United states and want to visit Uk and paris in one trip and we got visitor visa for UK.We are about to apply for paris visa but coming to this itenary part we thought to travel in train from London to paris.So is it okay to book train tickets prior and submit as travel itenary for application process or do we need to submit the flight tickets from US to paris and submit for application?

thanks for the info. I have two questions 1. Where did you get the passport photo taken? I have this issue every time I need a photo for anything apart from a us photo 2. For the application - did you just edit on a pdf editor or hand write it ? 3. Is an employment contract required in addition to NOC?

1)We too had so much difficulty in finding Schengen visa format photos, after searching we finally found out a studio in nyc which provided us the photo we needed. 2)The application was online, just the signature was handwritten. 3) As far as we know NOC is sufficient as they didn’t ask for the employment contract for the last 2 instances when we applied the visa.

Question: According to the application instruction page, originals and photocopies of all the supporting documents need to be submitted: 1) green card - do you leave the actual green card in the application package to be sent? Or just a photocopy of it? 2) for bank statements, do you provide the original printed copies, and then duplicated photocopies of these?

We didn’t send the documents via mail, we personally submitted the photocopy of all the documents at the VFS global, NYC and carried all the original along with us. For more clarity, I would suggest to check with the visa center where you are going to mail the documents. Even for bank statements we submitted the printouts.

Can I get the exact date or before date of my travel plan entry date stamped on my visa? I don’t want to miss my tourism dates planned? What is the use if I get stamped for month of June and my travel bookings are in May. This has happened to me with UK visa. It’s frustrating.

Thanks, glad you liked it. As per our understanding the visa services provides flights reservations/itineraries and not the actual booking. About the dates, per our understanding you can book any dates between the time your visa is eligible.

Hey Shashi, not really sure if there is anything specific for opt stem extension but in general the requirement is that you should have a US visa. If you are employed, they ask for a letter from Employer. We were asked for this letter both the times we went for document submission. Also, a cover letter is necessary requirement, we were asked for the same both the times we went for the submission.

I just booked my ticket to go back to my country on 2nd week of December and I have a 11 hour layover in Amsterdam, I'm applying for Schengen Visa so I can go out at the airport in Amsterdam and see then city for a few hours. I just booked my appointment at VFS and their early schedule is in November 22nd. My question is do they keep your passport after your appointment? I'm worried they might not be able to return my passport before my flight.

Thanks ! Pay slips are needed only when you are employed. Also, as per our knowledge, it does not matter for how many entries you have applied for , just that you would have to provide the plan for entering the schengen are multiple times.

Colombia is not in the Schengen area, so no you would not need multiple entry. But you will still be able to enter because they allow Indian citizens with either a US or a Schengen visa.

When you say 90 days do they give like specific dates that we need to plan our travel like within the 90 days of what is provided on the visa? We also filed separate applications. For us it was more of a document collection at vfs center for France so we submitted the documents together (same time slot) , not sure regarding the interview process.

We used an approved us visa for applying, though few people in the comments mentioned that for them i797 worked. But it may depend from which country’s consulate you are applying as well

Great content, thanks for making it. I was just wondering if you need your AADHAR card on the day of appointment? We are in the US and got an appointment with Washington DC France embassy. We are Indian passport holders with US green cards. We also entered our AADHAR number under national id fields but realized one of our AADHAR cards are not with us here in the US.

Hi Deepak, we didn’t carry Aadhar card copy for the interview and officer didn’t ask for it. Also, we kept ‘National ID’ field blank.

Hello All, I am applying for Schengen Visa for the Netherlands (tourism purpose) and I am stuck on a section of the form 'Residence Permit'. I need assistance regarding two fields; "Type of Permit" and "Permit Number", I am on H1B and I am not sure what selection to make for "Type of Permit" there are options: "Residence permit for a fixed period", "Residence permit with indefinite leave to remain", and "Other type of permit" furthermore, if I select the last option (Other type) then the form asks for "Specify Type". You have to apply to german consulate and check who handles the visa process. I think it’s BLS international who handles Schengen visa process and not VFS global, but check on german consulate website for the details.

As far as we know, if you are applying Schengen visa from the USA, you require a no objection letter from your employer

Hello! Glad to know you liked our video. As per our knowledge, a valid US visa is required to apply Schengen Visa from the USA. However, we would suggest to check with Embassy/Consulate if they accept I-797 (H1b extension).

Hello, this video is super helpful. I have a question. I am traveling for work to Schengen country this month. I had a flight booked from us to europe and back. However, my adavance parole is short by 10days for their 3 month requirement. So the embassy called me to tell that they cannot accept my application and asked me to show a flight ticket back to India. Which i did, i booked a refundable flight to india and i got approved visa for the days i am traveling from the embassy. My plan is to come back to US so i had cancelled my flight back to India and i also checked with my attorney she said i should be allowed entry in US even if i have 2 days valid AP. I am still worried that i will be stopped from flying back to US. Please let me know what you suggest or am I overthinking this. Thanks!

I have a employment verification letter from employer with my experience, position, salary details. Do we still need a letter from employer confirming vacation is approved and they dont have any objection for the trip? Thanks in advance.

Hi - For the employment verification proof, how critical is the leave of approval part ? We only have standard template that signifies all details required, except approved leave of absence. Do you have a sample letter that you can share

The standard templates isn’t enough. It should be a letter from you employer, in my case my direct supervisor signed the letter. There should be exact words stating “we have no objection of him travelling within this dates”. Make sure it also states “we are expectim him to return in this (return date)” so it support the fact that you wll return to your country.

@@whocares9262 well, the filling out of the online forms will only take less than an hour. As long as you already know your informations (passport number, resident number if any, dates of departure and arrival, your plans and hotel bookings, etc.) Then, you’ll choose your desire date for the interview/submission of requirements. I chose 3 weeks prior. Enough time to consolidate all the necessary requirements. On the day of the interview, we took an hour at vfs global. We also did the photographs there. 1 week after the interview, I received my approved visa. Though they say, some will take 2-3 weeks, but i got mine after only a week.

@@jmblessiepineda9884 Hi we also took the photograph option while booking the visa slot for next week. They will take photographs right before the interview slot or should we allocate additional time for photographs to be taken at vfs global?

@@varunvanka7171 in our case, they took our photographs AFTER our interview. So when the interview was done, they told us to take a sit and wait to be called for the photography. I am unsure if all the vfs global are like that. We we’re in new york vfs global. We also arrived 15mins prior to our appointment time

I believe you have to submit the Schengen visa application form online and all other documents you have to carry on the day of appointment.
