What goes on in the tower at Schiphol besides air traffic control?

Everyone knows that Air Traffic Control the Netherlands directs the air traffic at Schiphol from the air traffic control tower. But not everyone knows that one level lower there are also Schiphol gate planners and apron controllers hard at work. Directing the traffic around the gates rather than the traffic in the air. From the buses that shuttle passengers to and from the terminal to towage vehicles and 'parking' aircraft.

He must work hard when he starts school maybe he might be a air traffic controller.a very respectable job i respect these people alote along with the pilots and airport workers and security.i love aviation too.

the smaller one is he old tower and the one featured in the video is the new one ( fun fact: the tallest atc tower in the world) the older was used by the airport fire, rescue and police services but is being converted to a 3 star restaurant

@@ykarman There are 4 towers actually, the modern big one, Tower West at the Polderbaan, the old tower between the C and D pier, and the old apron control tower on top of the D pier if i am correct!

These guys need AI! Not to DO the job, just to ease the workload a bit. I've worked in IT. We had a ton of tools to assist what we were doing. Servers number in the thousands, maintenance and breakdowns, network loads always changing. Take away our tools and we'd have needed many more humans working. Something here reminds me of that. Some of their methods appear superficially as archaic. People with phones get more help.
