In today’s video, I’m going to cover the scholarship application letter for college and how to use it to ask for money for your student’s college funds.
We all know that scholarships are a great way to pay for college. Why? Because it is money that doesn’t have to be paid back but receiving a scholarship typically involves a little bit of work.
You may have to write an essay, attach letters of recommendations, some scholarships even require you to be a member of a specific organization. So I’m going to make things a little easier for you by sharing my top tips when it comes to writing application letters.

what advice would you give to a student athlete? Who isn’t true sure about their their career but is sure about wants to play a sport in college.

Most of the time you talk about 3-4 essays total could be recycled but my daughter has 1 application that has 3 different essays to be submitted alone:( 1st her participation in community service? written in essay form- why she wants to go to college? And then why she chose her major? The last 2 essay prompts are so similar she doesn’t know how to separate the 2 prompts w/o repeating herself. There is no word count on these essays so what is your recommendation for that? Focus on 300 words 500 words??? We are really struggling with her essays so far- they are not similar so reusing essays has not happened yet. Unfortunately she is on her 5th writing prompt! She is getting frustrated with getting her thoughts together and trying to keep essays memorable. She’s a severe dyslexic so I have been shedding many tears trying to be the cheerleader! Any advice is welcomed!!

The last two essay prompts are different enough that the response should be separate and different. Why college? Is about getting an education and experience. I hope the advice helps you push through - what you write is so true. There is a lot of frustration involved, but we all hope the pay off is there - the happiness in receiving some scholarship money to offset the cost of tuition. Hang in there - all the best to you and your student!!
