Very well explained for someone that tried in the past to chose the right cutting compound from Scholl Concept. I got a better understanding now.

@@yigitmert4232 The products you are naming are compounds. They do not "last" per say. They REMOVE the swirls rather than add protection. After the compound, you want to add the protection like Scholl Concepts Raalcoat Wax or Scholl Concepts Neo, etc.

@@SovereignSoul93 Sorry for the slow reply! If you have some S30 I would use that with a DA or if your using a rotary then finish with S40. I would use the Honey spider pad for the finishing pad. If you have neither S30 nor S40 then you could try S20 on that Honey pad and might also finish down good on a DA.

@@SkyCarCare I ordered meguiars ultimate polish and softer foam pad. I had residue issues with S20, you mentioned it is an oily product. I don't want to use Scholl products anymore. It caused me a lot of grief. Not saying they're bad, I just want to try something else. Thanks (I'm not a pro)

@@SkyCarCare what speed and pace of arm movement do you recommend for finishing ? Slow machine and faster hand movements then correcting ? Or do everything the same as the correction phase just with the finishing polish and softer pad ?

I have been hooked on the S3 gold and S20 Black for years, I have used it with my DA polishers but recently I have gotten started with a rotary, I got ahold of a black junk tailgate and took some 1500 grit sandpaper to it, both the S3 and S20 made it look like glass, I will use a white hex logic pad with the S20, and it takes out the holograms, so this is some good stuff.

S20 Black with the Purple Spider Sandwich would have to be one of the best one steppers, maybe only rivalled now by the Rupes DA Yellow Wool and Polish. But the Scholl System can be a lil bit confusing overall, and the pads can be confusing. I find Carpro a better overall System, but Scholl has some gems.

S2 black can easily remove orange peel and sanding marks .isn't? I want to sand refinished paint with 3000 and 5000 grit . Hope a get a phenomenal finish !

That is correct! No problem for it to remove sanding marks. The sanding is what will remove the orange peel.

I love Scholls polishes. I used S30+ for my soft black paint and it turned out awesome. Had enough cut, and finished well. Topped it off with CarPro Lite and I am happy. Wondering if you could give me an indication on how long it takes for the abrasives to be broken down? I did 3 slowish passes which seemed to work for me. In terms of bite, is this less, same or more than CarPro Reflect and how would you say the finishing polishes differ?
@SkyCarCare
@SkyCarCare 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Rover, thanks for the comments and question!! It has I would say equal cut to CARPRO Reflect. With regards to what will work best on soft paint, the S30 is more likely to finish down better generally speaking. On hard paint the Reflect will get there faster but they both finish down great on hard. As far as speed of abrasives breaking down on S30, yes if you move very slow then it can happen in 3 passes unless you have too much product on the pad. If hand speed is at an average speed and machine speed on moderate then usually 4-6 passes. Of course less product, slower hand speed, faster machine speed will break it down faster but isn't necessarily the best option. How they differ - see first paragraph about what paints each excels at and to add to the I would say Reflect you need to use less product then S30. S30 also can be worked longer while Reflect not as long and leaves nothing behind. Also, s30 is more visible on the paint while working it and is consistent on all paint types and perhaps superior on softer paints (for most people) while Reflect is perhaps superior on hard or medium hard paints with regards to how fast it gets the finishing job done.

@@SkyCarCare Amazing in-depth response, much appreciated thank you! I would say my 3 passes were slowish and I was using minimum product (2 dots once primed) on the pad as this was finishing much better for me. Machine speed 4-4.5, pads used LC SDO Orange and Black. Work area about 40cm x 40cm. I did play with different passes etc and I found 3-4 to be the sweet spot. Thanks again for you response! Sound about right or not really? Haha

@@rover1374 Thank you! 3-4 with small product and slow movement sounds nice and BEST OF ALL you spent the time to dial in your approach based on what you saw with your paint in your environment. That can have some affect so its great when someone has the confidence to do what you did and play with it and trust what you're seeing. Yes, it sounds like you nailed it. Best, Corey

About to place my second order and trying to assemble enough pads to test and complete my Shadow Black F150 limited without getting to crazy and buying everything lol. I pick up the truck next week and it has some medium to heavy swirls. So far I have ordered white/navy/honey spider pads with ultracut, s20 black, s30 and Essence on deck. How much more cut will I get with a wool or microfiber pad ? If you've worked on newer F150s would it make sense to add a wool or microfiber just incase, or should I be covered with those pads/products? If I should add a wool/micro, Rupes yellow/blue wool, Lake country microfiber, uro-fiber, something else?
@SkyCarCare
@SkyCarCare 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question and your support! You should be fine with the products you have there. Only way you would need anything heavier is if there are deeper than average defects in the paint in which case I would go with the Lake Country Microfiber. But that Ultracut with white or navy spider is going to cut quite well. Just keep cleaning the pad after every section.

Is 2-step the recommended method before prepping for ceramic coatings, or can you get away with 1-step? If I'm going to do a coating on my vehicle and for clients, Is it possible to use the S2 Black one-step, pre-coating application? Or do I always need to use a finishing polish if I'm going to be doing coatings?v Thank you for your information!
@SkyCarCare
@SkyCarCare 10 ай бұрын
Hi Grant! That depends on the current condition of the surface and your goals. It could be a one step or a two step. Yes, it is possible to do the S2 Black one step. Then CARPRO Eraser, and then coat. There are also times when that is more aggressive than you need and there are other times when it may not finish down perfectly on a black finicky paint in which case it comes down to the expectations of your client, yourself, and what you are selling.

Just built out a big cart in the site and I’m about to pull the trigger. Need that IK foam pro while it’s on sale ! Thoughts on s20 or s3 depending on the needed correction, followed by a solid wipe with eraser and following with essence ? Would it be a better move to correct with something like ultracut and dial in correction with pad selection and technique ? I really like the scholl line up but want to finish with essence, topping with reload after cure potentially.

If you are going 2 step but want to finish with Essence then S3 Gold XXL will be phenomenal as the compound. Ultracut would work of course as well. Either is fine before Essence. Best, Corey

Sir, what is the ideal rotation speed so as not to create holograms for finishing soft paint using S40?
@SkyCarCare
@SkyCarCare 10 ай бұрын
Start at low speed to prime the area, bring the speed up to mid-way and then dial it down just a bit with each pass until you end at the slowest speed it offers.
