In 2022, I was peacefully reading my Goosebumps book when TORNADO ALARMS GO OFF AND THE SCHOOL SPEAKER SYSTEM IS LIKE “THIS ISN’T A DRILL! GET TO THE BASEMENT!” So we get in a line by first letter of last names and go into the hallway which is just dark. The second we were in the hall, people were looking for their friends. When we got onto the basement, it was more crowded than any Taylor stupid concert. Luckily, me and my friends had a table to hang out under. There was a single old bathroom down there that had no light and the line was long. I really had to go, but a teacher yelled at me to sit down (even though she was walking around the room the whole time) My friend found a shelf and ended up squeezing into it. Eventually, the teacher told us to come out because “It wasn’t safe to take cover while two tornados were over the building!” The teacher then starts playing the thanksgiving special of the Beranstien bears even though it wasn’t even Halloween yet. Eventually, after hours of sitting in a basement, we got to leave, but the power was out, so we got to sit in a circle on the floor once we were back in class. Apparently, the school got tons of calls about if their kids were ok and the teachers DIDN’T CALL BACK! So lots of the parents came to get their kids, but weren’t allowed to. So long story short, it was a day.

That position in the tornado drill is actually a fucking real survival technique

When I was in the seventh grade, there was a kind of weather drill during the time when we were supposed to go home. We all had to go to the theater, because I went to a performing arts middle school. it was hailing, and because the theater gets really hot, there is an opening in the roof. It was really loud, and there was hail falling onto the stage because the hatch opened on the stage. This school had the middle school and the elementary school in the same building, so there is all of middle school and half of the elementary kids, so a lot of kids, all in the theater. most the kids were screaming and crying, most of them texting their parents. I'm pretty sure I was the only one between our friends that was not crying. it went well after 2 hours of the school dismissal time. In my opinion, the worst part is that they wouldn't let us use the bathroom.

I have a story, in elementary school we had a lock out a real lock out by the way and the 3rd graders were at recess and we were at lunch and people were crying because siblings were outside but what we do in a lock out is that all doors to the recess area doors open for everyone can get in.

I remember the few lockdowns and lockouts that were used in practice drills at a school I went to, including bomb threat evacuations. Only at least 2 bomb threat drills were carried out in my time there. One legitimate lockdown was a prank call of a Man carrying a weapon, but no such threat existed.

I have a school story so basically the first field trip of the year and we’re all really excited right. So we went to the field trip and we had a lot of fun but on the way back but THE BUS BEHIND US CRASHED INTO OURS and I was hyperventilating and the principal told our parents that it was just little, like no problem but, I mean I’d agree with her if it weren’t for the 12 KIDS that went to the hospital. Like another bus came to the scene and there were police cars, and ambulances, and even the principal came to check it out and it was raining okay. I was scared and I could see the OIL LEAKING FROM THE OTHER BUS and they evacuated everyone from the other bus bro and I’m pretty sure we were waiting in that Walmart parking lot for 3 hours and also the ac in front of me sounded like it was gonna explode and I’ve been traumatized ever since and I have a phobia of field trips now. and the worst part was that we still went on 3 MORE FEILD TRIPS TO THE SAME EXACT PLACE but in the end the other field trips were fun, and the other bus driver who the other kids told me that was eating AND texting I’m pretty sure got fired.

*I had a real tornado drill* (Story ↓) We were in class, we were learning about tornados and hurricanes, then on the intercoms "bla bla bla, this is not a drill" we all head to the hallway and do the normal position you do when a tornado drill happens, everyone was scared because their parents are at work, i was scared because my mom is at home *Alone*, we had to be there for twenty minutes, on the intercomes they say "you can now sit down, with a level one" idk if its just my school but level one means you talk in a whisper, so we were all talking about what if the tornado came through the school, after *Two hours* we could go back to class It was scary but everyone was ok, while i had a full on panic attack but we'll all good now

OK, here’s mine so one time we were just getting hit by a bad storm but then the teacher gets a amber alert. Everyone was worrying and I kind of got scared too soon we were informed to get into this stupid hallway and do that dumbass position. Once we were outside the hail and rain was so loud that I was out of cover my ears. I literally could see 8th graders get out my friend said I don’t wanna die and then the teacher was like you’re not gonna die and I was thinking the same thing we sat there for like 30 minutes I think there was a rotation near the school. The teachers were watching outside to see if they got any closer or if we could get resume back to class. Soon I think the rotation died so we are actually able to go back in class, but it was so loud when we were inside our class because we are inside some metal building for some reason. It’s just weird.

So, mine is a lockdown drill. 28 middle schoolers in a small closet and we had to be quiet. I was with my two friends but one of my friend are really Tall. And they started crouching down to everyone else’s height and whispered:” I need to blend in”. I had to cover my mouth in a desperate attempt not to make a sound laughing. My other friend was like: “why are you laughing”. All I could do was point at my Tall friend and say between my laughter what he was doing. He was still couching to everyone else’s height. So now me and more other friend are covering our mouths, trying not to laugh until the drill was over and we left the closet. The drill ended, laughter was let out, and we continued class.
