The 3-part back harmonies are absolutely killer, the three guitar players were seamless, the rhythm section was rock solid, the piano player has great touch (while leading the whole thing) and the lead singer brought it all home - beautifully. I’ve been playing for over 40 years, so I’m qualified to say: this is next-level awesome. Great job everyone!

Freddie would be proud. He actually encouraged people to cover his songs and even approved of parodies. These kids nailed yet another classic song while most usually fail at such an attempt. The lead singer sings her heart and soul out here. I think these kids would have loved to have lived in the 1970s when this music was an everyday thing.

I'm not quite sure what to say, I was blown away on so many levels. I guess the only right thing to say is, that was tremendous!!! That is an unbelievably hard song to get right, but you all did it. All the vocals were spot on. The harmonies that sound so easy when someone else is doing them, are infinitely harder when it is you that has to carry off the 3rd and 4th harmonies in live time. Queen did it using massive amounts of layering and never attempted it live. The guitar players were all outstanding and I especially enjoyed the Lefty in the bunch. I loved hearing the contrasts between all your guitars in sound and style. The bass player, was awesome!!! She added so much in terms of style and sound, I was blown away. Keyboard guy excellent, the melody line hung on you and you nailed it spot on. Drums were awesome, you played and kept everyone going in the same direction, all while doing the little things that flavored your style, without drawing attention to yourself. Finally, the lead singer, I felt every bit of your performance. Your voice was beautiful and full of conviction, you made this your version. Tough to do with an iconic song like this where the temptation to sound like Freddie is always trying to assert itself. I will be making trips back to this version in the future 'cause it restores my faith in the fact that this generation is giving music it's due. Thank you all of you!!!

That drummer positively NAILS the Roger Taylor signature drum sound AND playing style... top notch work, that. If “fidelity” means remaining faithful to the original, then this is true “high fidelity”, and when doing a “cover”, that’s the name of the game. This type of drumming requires a lot of self-discipline, and a lot of self-control, not to mention just sheer musicianship, irrespective of one’s particular instrument or voice... it transcends detail such as that, and dwells in the realm of pure Art. I mean, you have to “get it” before anything else is done, and before anything else will succeed. While many people look down on anything but “originals”, I hold good cover bands in very high regard for this reason ... the command of the art form. Good studio musicians must have a very broad “vocabulary” ... it amounts to the quantity and variety of tools in the toolbox. Thus endeth the lesson ....

Ok... You got me.. I'm a Kiwi living in Australia for most of my complex life... When this came out I was 15... yep. My best mate got the record and we played it outside his house overlooking the road from Te Kuiti to Otorohanga.. we didn't take drugs. Nothing.. We Played it most weekends as well as all the stuff from the same time. Elton John, Osibisa, Pink Floyd, we played everything which eventually made become a musician... . We played it at FULL VOLUME with the speakers outside, a massive setup in those days!!! I loved this song then and love it to today... I remember hearing about Freddie Mercury dying exactly when it happened.. I was living in Sydney and had just driven home from my first Electronics Computer job as a tech... There were no gays in Te Kuiti.. There may be now. Dunno. But I knew that it was a bad day in the world. My best mates name is??? And we are still friends after 50 years!!!!! I really enjoyed this video. I have not seen the movie but knew about Black Jack... another long story...

I would imagine most Queen songs would be difficult to cover because of Freddie's vocal style. Glad this girl didn't even try to replicate Freddie and put her own spin on it. Great job, kids. Keep it up.

Hell, I loved it -- let the nitpickers go back to picking nits after commenting that *high school folks* aren't pre-zactly and ex-cisely like Queen, in studio.

This is one of the best and cleanest vocals I think they have had out of all the School's.

I keep coming back to this performance. The singer has great range, the guitarists are spot-on, the drummer and bassist never miss a lick and the background singers nail it. The recording engineer is to be given kudos for capturing the sound and mixing it perfectly. The one thing that would be cool would be to have isolated cameras for the singer and the rest. I've seen a video by the Corrs where that was done. It's cool getting to watch everyone contributing their part to make a great recording.

BR is an incredibly hard song to perform, that's why Freddie and Queen were unreplaceable, so I didn't have high expectations but It was pretty good. A few timing issues in some parts but pretty good. Defiantly need some more grit and passion but pretty good for what it was.
