[DE] Ein Spaziergang entlang der Argyll (High) Street in Dunoon. Eine kleine einspurige Strasse im Herzen von Dunoon gelegen. Sie übt ihren eigene Charme aus mit all den kleinen Läden und Möglichkeiten einzukehren und einen Drink zu nehmen. Vom Charity Shop bis zum Eisenwarenladen ist alles zu finden. Die Argyll Street erstreckt sich von der Alexandra Parade (A815) bis zur John Street (A855). Auf dieser 1 Meile findet man besonders kleinere Läden die wirklich alles anbieten sowie die üblichen Ketten wie Boots (Apotheke) oder andere grössere Läden.
[EN] A walk along Argyll Street in Dunoon. A small one way road in the heart of Dunoon. With all the wee shops it has its own charme and some places to stop for a drink or meal. You can find almost everything on the Argyll Street, from charity shops to the hardware store. The Argyll Street goes from the Alexandra Parade (A815) up to John Street (A855). On this mile you can find the common chains like Boots (pharmacy) and other big shops and stores.

Just come over then. It’s a nice wee town with a lot to see around it. A nice base camp for exploring the surrounding areas.

Great video! I was there at Holy Loch in 70-71 on Canopus. I didnt realize Dunoon was as big as it is. Beautiful place and warm, wonderful people. Would love to come back again.

Always worth to revisit. I’ve been there regularly, the parents of my wife live in Dunoon. I like the place, big enough to have most important facilities but small enough to not being crowded (except in summer when the tourists come). The downside is the job market, you mostly would have to look for a job in Glasgow or greater Glasgow area which means every morning over the water with the ferry…

I was rhere same time as you; Gold crew aboard SSBN602 Loved the local ice cream; trips to Glasgow via British Rail, Argyle Bar, and of course my fellow "lifer" ship mates bringing home the CLAP to their wives and girlfriends. Ship corpman was a popular guy. Most fun was the bus trip to and from Prestwick Airport. Early summer sunrise and late sunset were memorable. Fish and chips were also great. Never got to try the HAGGIS.

Stationed at RAF Machrihanish near Campbeltown to the south. My boss was a doctor at Holy Loch Clinic. The town was not as big as this video portrays. 1991-1993.

Dunoon is still not the biggest village / town but that makes it so amazing. If there would be more opportunities for work I would move there but here it’s better for jobs and I still live at the coast, just higher up

@@adventurescotland Another interesting tidbit. See the pub called "Sinbad's" you passed by? It's mentioned in Gerry Cinnamon's song. "Diamonds in the mud"
