In this episode of Aleph Podcast, we had the pleasure of hosting Schumaila Rehmat Hussain, an inspiring Dubai-based singer and composer, known for her deep voice and haunting melodies. Schumaila has enriched several film soundtracks, with notable works in films like "Manto" and "Azad".
Schumaila Rehmat Hussain, originally a painter, refined her singing under Ustad Fateh Ali Khan and participated in vocal workshops with Mary Wilson from 2004 to 2007. She debuted in the music mainstream in 2010 with "Nain Larey," followed by versatile singles like "Sayoni" and "Tehriye Hazoor." Schumaila has also created soundtracks for multiple dramas and films. Her albums include "Jani" (2021), inspired by Jaun Elia's poetry, and "Gul Mohar Se" (2023). She is currently working on her next album, "Dharkan Ke Paar," and composing for upcoming projects with notable directors.
