This Schwinn Meridian 26" adult trike I bought for my girlfriend because her old one was falling apart and the frame was rusting from the inside out. So enjoy this video. If your interested in buying one for yourself or for someone else please subscribe. Thank you for watching!

I have right side cp and had the meridian at about 14 or 15 as my second trike after a 24" royal enfield. Eventually as I wanted to keep up with others pedaling the heavy bike I eventually stripped it down, put a sport saddle and "north roads" bars on, and replaced the tires with the skinniest ones I could. The basket also rattled a lot so I took that off and just left some rope if I needed. The bike served me really well. Eventually at 19 after I was already driving I did force myself to learn to ride a regular bike. It was hard but extremely satisfying.

The OEM brakes: by centering do you mean if you engaged the lever and let go, one pad would be close to the rim still? If so, did you try turning the tiny philips head screws on the caliper arms? Adjusting them is what centers the calipers

Thank you for the review, I just bought this bicycle to make a 4 mile one way (8 mile full journey) daily trip to bring my son to preK. I just made the trip on my husband's bike and although there is some gradual up and downhill on the route, it is nothing too crazy. I read some reviews that indicated this is not for long journeys, but I am not sure what constitutes a long trip. I have not taken it out of the box yet, but I did write down the brake system you put on, and the other upgrades you are planning. Will this bike work for my needs? Any advice or suggestions, or should I return this?

My cousin has had a stroke and can only use one arm. Is this trike able to be ridden with one hand only?

You have to replace the breaks? Ek! How much is it for a bicycle shop replaces them? I'm thinking of buying a second hand one.

I just bought the 7 speed version of the Schwinn Meridian. Nice looking trike. Stability? Not so sure. Had a bike shop put it together and the owner rode it the 1 1/2 miles to my home. My husband took it out first, he told me that the trike seemed to want to pull to the left. In fact he ended up on our front lawn on the left side of the driveway. He said he had to keep compensating by pulling the handlebar right. I bought this bike because I lost my hearing in one ear and am having a problem with balancing my regular bike. I got on and sure enough, I started to pedal and it went off to the left side of the street. It really frightened me. Am I supposed to be trying to balance on a trike so it doesn’t pull to the left? I know about the wider turning radius of a trike, but pulling to the left and continuously adjusting by oulling the handlebar right? Is this common with riding a trike or is something on the trike causing this? I’ve watched videos on riding a trike and no one mentions this. I want to love my new trike, but now afraid to ride it. Thanks for the video.

Debbie -- the tendency of the trike to pull to one side is generally a result of the road design. Yes, it's annoying as can be! 😵 A street is set up with a tilt from the center to the right/left to allow for rain water drainage. I just got a trike a few weeks ago and I definitely need to be very aware of the road surface. I don't know if you are in the US. I am so I ride with traffic on the right side of the street. I find if I position myself just outside of a car's parking space, there is less camber to the road surface and it's easier for me to go straight. You're right, not many videos (if any) mention this tendency. My trike's paperwork never mentioned it. My bike shop didn't say anything either! Also while getting used to the trike, ride more slowly than you might want to. Slow down when turning and make a wider turn than if you were on a bicycle. Lots of practice on low or no traffic roads/paths will help with building your confidence.

@@LLewis-vu9qf Good info and correct. Another issue is if youre used to riding a normal bike you'll have a tendency to lean which seems to effect the direction depending on rider's weight

@@viewer54322 -- so true! I've been a bike rider for decades. When my trike veers to one side (against my will), it's all I can do to remember NOT to lean away from the drift. That only seems to make the trike veer more -- sort of like trying to steer a car opposite a skid, instead of into the skid. I think it takes more skill to properly ride a trike than a bicycle. 🤔

I have one and wanting to upgrade the gearing as well if you can do a video. Also my right back fender rubbed and rattled as well, I think the aluminum rim was defected and warped causing the rubbing.

"You'll have to replace the front brake because of factory defects" 100% totally false and untrue, you just don't know how to set it up right. I have the same bike among many other bikes oh, you just need to know what you're doing and not make false claims, the brakes are absolutely fine
