Byston Well? Shiratori Shrine? Yamato Takeru no Mikoto? The Power of Anita? I must make sense of this convoluted situation, and the only way I'll get any answers is by watching Garzey's Wing on Sci-Fi Channel's Saturday Anime.
𝐕𝐢𝐞𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝. This video contains animated violence and may not be suitable for younger audiences.
This is a compilation video I put together using footage of commercials that played on Sci-Fi Channel in the year 1999 along with a Japanese anime movie that didn't play on Sci-Fi Channel to the best of my knowledge. It is loosely based off Sci-Fi Channel's Saturday Anime block that would air starting at 3 at night on Saturdays (technically Sundays) in 1999, or later that year at 11 in the morning on Saturdays (times varied). Think of it as a retro remix or a bootleg television broadcast.
This is the one hundred twelfth television compilation video I've uploaded, the sixth I've made on Sci-Fi Channel, and the second I made for Saturday Anime. The first Saturday Anime video I did wound up being really fun, so I figured I'd do another. I decided to go with Garzey's Wing (also known as Tales of Byston Well: Garzey's Wing or バイストン・ウェル物語ガーゼィの翼 in Japanese) this time, which is often cited as one of the worst anime of all time. Like the last video, this is a three episode OVA. It was made by Yoshiyuki Tomino, the creator of the Gundam franchise, and so perhaps expectations were set high for Garzey's Wing. Is Garzey's Wing really that bad? Is it so bad it's good? Can you even understand what's going on in Garzey's Wing? I'll yet you decide. Good or bad or somewhere in between, it's all a mystery, but hopefully you'll enjoy it.

20:30 “I must somehow make sense of our convoluted situation” Yeah, no kidding. I’m saying the exact same thing here 😂 Oh man thank you so much for this. I’m sad I never saw it in the 90s. It’s so bad it’s so good and the voice acting just adds to that. The Japanese pronunciations too! Ah man. Kids today don’t realize us 90s (and 2000s to an extent) kids had to put up with in anime. I also saw a lot of 80s anime in the 90s that I had no idea was anime. Back then I had no idea bad anime was bad, I just enjoyed the fact I could actually watch it. Didn’t get to see much of Syfy anime but I did catch a lot of anime via Starz and Tech TV. I'll also say this, 29:25 the anime is beautiful, nice and detailed. Usually dont get this type these days anymore. 80s and 90s anime had great style.

This anime is legendary at conventions! Watching it with a crowd is akin to attending a viewing of "The Room" or a Neil Breen film! So much fun, and even funnier with everyone reacting! xD

If you ever get a chance to watch this with a crowd, do it! There's an anime convention in Boston that hosts a "so bad it's good" anime panel and instead of showing clips, the host said, he was just gonna air the episodes in their entirety because everything in it is so hilarious! xD It was so much fun to watch this with other enthusiastic fans!

I think dubs didn’t become good until ADV and Funimation got ahold of it. I miss that ADV cast though, even though most were absorbed into Funimation, others went to….Viz Media I believe.

It's like all infant jibberish, and when it's not they use the most plain names ever like Kyle and Steve. Animation looks nice tho. Not sure how this went over seas, but this dub is atrocious.

OH crap! Animidnight was Encore??? I’ve been saying animidnight forever and nobody has ever had any clue what the heck I’d been talking about. For the love of me I couldn’t remember where I saw it. I kept thinking tech tv but theirs was called Anime Unleashed. Saw all my favorites there too.

Also I thought I saw blue seed on anime unleashed, but I guess it was on encore. That’s awesome I’m glad I read your comment. That era I was watching anime on whatever stations had them but I ended up blurring them. I had been watching anime on Starz since they introduced it early to mid 90s. They had some many awesome ones like Patlabor. Dude they even had Perfect Blue. Had no idea that would go on to be considered one of the bests.

Do a Nickelodeon and quick jr. Broadcasting from 1995, and it's going to be on the same video, do 3 road runner and Sylvester and Twenty cartoo ns, and replace any show with Pete & Pete, Nick Arcade and some shows from 1995 on Nick. Find it on Nickelodeon Canon Schedule 1995 to do it, including Bullwinkle's Moose-O-Rama. Okay?
