The Scratchbuild Spider Bot project is finally finished! It took me almost 3 months of hard work to get this one done in record time (for it's size and complexity I mean), and I'm really happy with how it came out. Please let me know in the comments what you think :)

Thinking about it; this bot, crouching and reaching up and turning 360* etc at high-speed is actually terrifying! It must move like an ice-skater on steroids and speed!

I adore your work CTG and (as a modeller myself) I love your, 'if you can''t find the right greeblies then just print your own'. The hours spent 'shopping' through my junk boxes, fun though that can be is disappointing when you can't find 'just the right piece'. The paint job is superb too. In my Mind Palace there is a Library and in the 'inspiration' section there is a whole section devoted to your technique. Cheers my friend.

When gluing a "low-energy" plastic like PP (polypropylene), you can achieve a much stronger bond when "activating" the surface first. In an industrial setting this is done either with a plasma source or very hard UV radiation - which is a bit impractical in a hobby context. Alternatively, you can use the blue part of the flame of a storm lighter: just go over the surface quickly a couple of times until the total time of flame contact is about 1s. After that you have a 20-minute window to apply your quick-setting epoxy, which should be cured around minute 25 from the start of the activation process.

I do alot of furniture repair. That epoxy putty can me molded if you wet your fingers in water or a spray bottle. It saves alot of sanding time. hope this helps. Great Video's BTW Let me know if it helps

Thank you for the tip, I sometimes make it smooth using alcohol, but I very much prefer sculpting than molding so usually I just wait for it to cure :)

Very cool rounded design on this bot, not your usual style, but I love 💙 it!! Though I am having a tough time seeing how those four legs operate with each of the wheels pointing away from the body...🤔🤷🏻‍♂️ Keep on keeping on good sir! 👍👍

Man, i hope that you are wearing a mask because the amount of micro plastic particals flying in the air cant be healthy for you. Honestly, i wouldn't want to lose such a talented creator.

In this project I sanded and routed a ton of acrylic, so yeah, microplastics all over the place. not ideal :( .. I try to keep the vacuum running while doing it but it's definitely not enough, I should look for some respirators. Thanks buddy
