Hey all, Justin Giddings here, one half of the filmmaking team. Thank you so much to DUST for giving us the chance to share this with you and thank YOU so much for watching!! I hope you love watching it as much as we enjoyed making it. It took us 5 years to get to this point! IMPORTANT: Be sure to stick around for the mid-credits scene… 😉

Time flies when you're having fun. Also, it helps for the story to be rational enough that one can anticipate its development slightly. Those pieces that seek to make everything mysterious by presenting constant inexplicable behavior tend to drag.

@Peter A. Yes, Hollywood has a lot to answer for lately with it's movies, which are nothing more than visual chewing gum. But that doesn't detract from the fact that this was an unimaginatively poor and lazy story, with about as much appeal & substance as the vacuum surrounding the two weak and aimless characters. Harsh? Yes. But justified, as too many recent shorts similar to this one populate the plethora of banal shite out there around now.

Why the hell are any of us wasting our time with the retreads produced by serial predators that Hollywood wastes our time with, starring the same eight people in continuous rotation, when there are amazing gems like this created by and featuring radiantly talented people we've never heard of? Outpost has become one of my absolute favorite sci-fi shorts of all time, it's one of those rare short films that manages to truly draw you in & hold you there. I would have loved to see this film's story expanded into a full length motion picture, as I believe that all of the plot elements were securely in place, and both actors would have brought even more to their characters in a longer production. In fact, were I in charge of a film studio, I honestly believe that I could reach a better, more positive conclusion to funding a film project by use of a short film, rather than a boring film treatment. In fact, I believe that those in charge of deciding whether a film project should be funded or not, should actually be fairly constant readers, as readers conceptualize better with their mind's eye and their imagination, which is what allows them to immerse themselves into a story much more proficiently than those who only read occasionally or worse, very seldom.

This sort of reminds me of a Classic " Twilight Zone " where a human man is sent to a prison planet but is given a female robot to keep him company . But when his sentence time is up he had forgotten that she was still a robot and had fallen in love with her . The Captain told him that they were short on fuel and had a weight restriction and the robot was too heavy to take off with and then shot the robot . Sending the now former prisoner into deep shock .

Of course if they shot that Twilight Zone now instead of back then, the captain, after shooting the Android, would have reached in and pulled out hair databank, handed it to the guy, and said, "here dumbass, that's all you need. Now drop a deuce in the sand to make up the weight difference, then we'll get going!" I really kind of fell in love with that actress too. That was either the very first or only the second Twilight Zone episode ever filmed-- on location in Death Valley.

Weary of the over inflated, egotistical Hollywood “celebrities” who are in every crap movie (and the forever sequels that just won’t go away) that comes out and who litter up the daily news with their over dramatic not-so-private tawdry lives. We need talent like this to breath life back into the movies, with great, original story telling and fresh, talented actors.

Hilary C it WILL happen in our lifetime (I hope 🤞). With each advancement there’s an equally amazing change to how society behaves. Like in England (just as a quick country to pick)...many troops of actors would perform the same piece but in their own region (I’m pretty sure this is right). Maybe the whole of England recognized THE name of THE most popular actor but each area had their own troop to adore. Then, a major development happened (like the Industrial Age). That progress changed the whole of society. People moved in massive waves to the cities for work ( famine occurred too if I recall. Actually it doesn’t matter... famine is a massive countrywide change). Sorry. So as technology improved the ability to travel improved and now those troops could expand where they performed. Eventually moving mostly to just the largest cities(London? ). Then another huge event (WWI, etc). War demands better and better technology and developed and sadly its paired with the decimation it caused. So the flow back to “simpler” times of staying in your local region increased again. I’m not saying completely reversed but it did change. Axis powers (yeah England also) gave the land they took back. Now we have countries with smaller lands. Change occurs in a balanced way. Right? The ebb and flow. So, yes, the Hollywood Mega-stars in LA won’t be all that forever. Heck, it’s already happening. Vancouver, Scotland, New Zealand, Bali-Wood in India etc already are taking more of that spotlight from LA. Sorry for rambling. 🤞 No spelling mistakes. It’s hard to see on my phone.

@@got_glintsp963 I am in Vancouver and whilst there are plenty of indies being produced here we are flooded by American productions. A large percentage of American television shows and movies are made here. Movie sets out in the communities in abundance. The "stars" are everywhere and there's always an opportunity to walk past a pile of fake snow in July for the latest Liam Neeson movie. LOL

Bit this is straight from the Hollywood play book, minus a big name tag. This is a terrible story, he has a gun and a sword on a solo spacecraft for crying out loud, and his assistant is a traditionally sexually attractive female robot wearing a spray on cat suit. The plot is so generic and peppered with over used tropes, that it could easily have been generated by a Hollywood commitee and a flow chart 👎
