When her bionic boyfriend Ethan proposes, Jackie finally feels like she has found her happily ever after- until a chance encounter with another human shows her how messy love can really be.

More About "PARTNR":
Jackie is a young ER doctor, who has always been dedicated to her job. She has worked hard to provide for her patients, so much so, it has taken a strain on her past relationships in life. She solves the problem with a PARTNR, a battery powered significant other. Ethan, Jackie's PARTNR, is the full package: handsome, neat, stable - it's a no brainer when she programs him to propose. However, Jackie's errand to the store for a set of batteries puts her on a crash course with fate, or in this case, Dave. The connection between the two is evident and ultimately makes her question what makes a relationship “real”.

No thank you...I had my soul mate/twin flame until he passed a few years ago. Could never settle for an unemotional, impersonal, uninvested, relationship without passion after him! Too cold and empty, think I would feel more lonely than by just being alone. Big difference between being alone and being lonely, AI ain't gonna fill that gap...🙄😏

A partner yes but.....i have my own life and i don't want to give it up. A partner must be an addition to my life not my only purpose. I work very hard and creative in industrial automation and home control and solar. So the time where i not at work i will have some happy free time. There is an empty place but the women today don't want a partner like that. That is my personal experience and so i decided to life alone and have my fun for myself. BTW i'm strong enough to do so and at the end we all die alone, nobody will die with us together.

Really interesting take on the whole robot partner thingy. Character showed a classic self-absorbed, fear of intimacy and inability to make meaningful actual human connection, leading to the use of a soulless machine, that she didn't need nor want to actually know anything about. As the other Character said: "A Yes Man -- preprogrammed to love you. ❤ HAPPY VALENTINES DAY 😂

Reminds me a bit of the film "I'm your man." But this is even better. It conveys the same idea more quickly: that android romantic relationships, though stable, are ultimately unfulfilling. Though for people who are not looking for love, they are better than nothing. I suspect when they are mass-produced and less expensive and better designed that now that they will be best-sellers.

The scale was originally designed in 1964 by the Russian astrophysicist Nikolai Kardashev (who was looking for signs of extraterrestrial life within cosmic signals). It has 3 base classes, each with an energy disposal level: Type I (10¹⁶W), Type II (10²⁶W), and Type III (10³⁶W). Other astronomers have extended the scale to Type IV (10⁴⁶W) and Type V (the energy available to this kind of civilization would equal that of all energy available in not just our universe, but in all universes and in all time-lines). These additions consider both energy access as well as the amount of knowledge the civilizations have access to.

I see what point the short is trying to make, but given how obnoxious, pushy and overall red-flaggy the "real nice guy" is, I think on the contrary it reinforce the opposite point, which is women are way better off alone or with safe robots than with real men who don't give a shit about their consent. XD
@scottadler
@scottadler 3 ай бұрын
Actually, I personally doubt that women would buy or use male robotic partners. It would be impossible to take comfort by sitting on a robot's lap. It has no strength of its own. Worse, a robot does not have real feelings and it would be useless to slap, insult, reject or humiliate one. If you own a robot, you can't emotionally destroy it by arbitrarily breaking up with it. There's no damage to inflict. If a woman arbitrarily rejects a robot's sexual advance, it feels nothing. What joy is there in that? Women would hire robot butlers or maids, but never lovers. On the other hand, men would find female robots a lot safer. They won't say no, they won't start arguments over nothing, and they won't have a fit if you forgot about valentine's day.
