Has anyone noticed DUST FILM'S are more worthwhile and worthy of recognition than Hollywood.

Oh God no, I'm not saying Hollywood has done anything lately than boring reboots, but DUST is like Disney quantity over quality. You have to wade through 20 pieces of garbage just to find one decent one.

Obviously instinct teaches us to shelter and protect out young. In a situation like this the mother KNOWS there is danger everywhere. So much as she runs ER Drills. But never taking the girl outside when they have the means to do so is selfish and dangerous. Not only should the girl know what is in the vicinity of the shelter but giving her that experience takes away the absolute curiosity. Which led the girl to do it alone. Mom and daughter are (seemingly) alone. So the rule about never ever traveling alone is a bad rule. As the girl points out, SHE travels alone. If mom is hurt or killed on one of her excursions the daughter is alone. And eventually will need to leave the shelter for some reason. Regardless. Great film.

Well I guess panic made her lose her sense of direction. The teddy bear could even have seemed like a real dead animal and she may never have seen death before. Or it may have reminded her of her dad's death. Maybe she saw that happen and that's why she hallucinated over it.
@carameldoll96
@carameldoll96 Жыл бұрын
She probably hasn't been outside at all. Factor in thick fog and seeing the world as it is vs what she thought it was and seeing a stuffed animal showed her how real it is. Maybe it showed her kids who might have died,and that it could happen to her. Things aren't always real to kids until they see/know it for themselves, nothing like the possibility of death to scare the crap out of you

Alien gave us the concept of space travel and science fiction NOT being clean, orderly and comfortable. The portrayal of Nostromo being cramped and generally run down was a key component(for me) I. Moral of the story, do what your mother says, even if you don't understand why, because whatever you think you're missing out on, she's already been there and knows. Grow and learn for a time when "responsibility" is passed down to you, but as a child, don't rush things when you are too young and unknowledgeable to fix things when they go wrong.

this is a typical American story: people behave irrational and emotional, which ensues in a drama that could have been avoided in the first place. Hollywood Sci-Fi follows normally the same pattern: a non-professional crew brings people into problems, which is followed by panic, emotion, and more irrational behavior. In the end there is a happy end by sheer luck of incidents.

Almost every 10 or 20 years it's a different dooms day scenario. In the 60's it was Atomic bombs in Cuba, we'd hide under our school desk drill which if a bomb dropped wouldn't matter. Then there was Global Warming, oceans would rise, flood NYC 100 ft of water. Never happened. Or the Earth would freeze. Now it's Climate Change because Global Warming was too specific. Climate Change covers everything. Seems thought the politicians every few years comes out with a new world destruction scenario if you don't vote for them. Funny, they get richer, buy homes on the ocean. Fly in their private jets everywhere. Climate Change. Right, it changes from winter to spring then summer, Fall and then winter again. Hurricanes are about the same. Just more destruction because more people building more buildings to be ripped apart by the storm. Drives up the damages. Makes it sound more destructive. But give the politicians more money and they can fix it. Right? They will all fly from around the world to a Climate Change meeting. Then tell us we must buy electric cars. Which I'm sure they are heavily invested in. Getting richer at our expense This world will gone on. Climate changes all of the time. It's called Season and weather. I've noticed that Hollywood injects the Climate Change narrative into videos and movies and tv shows . Gently brainwashing

Various versions of a dystopic future have been portrayed by many, but this is particularly bleak. 2043 or whenever it is . . . well, hey, better start investing in survival gear and existence enhancement supplies. Meanwhile, nicely produced, the quality bar of these selections offered by DUST keeps getting raised to new heights, this is just such an example. The ragged teddy bear she found triggered past memories? Not sure why she suddenly panicked and remained frozen at the "tree fortress" . . .
