I mean gnembon talked about his simple Slimefarm that had 30K slimeballs per hour and I have no idea for what I should ever do with 30K slimeballs. If I turned them into 30K sticky pistons, I'd have to get hold of 30K Redstone, 120K cobblestone, 90K Wood Planks, and 30K Iron Ingots... I mean, I can't get 30K Iron Ingots in a long long while... Let's see each chunk roughly contains 30 iron ore, that means I'd have to dig up 1000 Chunks to just get enough Iron. Or I'd have to kill 260'870 Zombies With a Looting 3 sword. Both of which takes a lot more than an hour to do.

Java literally literally has a simple farm for everything, meanwhile I'm sitting over here with my ps4 that has only 1 fully automatic zero tick farm, virtually no tutorials, weird villager mechanics, and mob limit of less than 100

the enderpearl would just go into unloaded chunks, but if it didn't go into unloaded chunks then you would be sent 10s of thousands of blocks and somebody would get very angry at them for increasing the world file size

I wouldn't call this piston bolt the "fastest" in comparison to the others. While using the second norm (the traditional sense of distance, sqrt(x^2 + y^2 + z^2)) that is certainly true, that comparison is only useful in relation to walking/flying. I'd argue that a better measure for comparing piston bolts is the infinity norm (max(x, y, z)). In that case, it is still 1 block per tick, or 20 blocks per second. Using the second norm to compare piston bolts is also unfair. Think about it like this: A piston bolt traveling in 2 dimensions diagonally can ever only travel in those 2 dimensions. It is not possible to "rotate" the piston bolt and use the same technology to travel faster in an axis-aligned direction, instead you have to "flatten" it into a straight-line piston bolt. There is no analogue for a diagonal piston bolt moving in a straight line except for the piston bolt that is designed to go in a straight line.

You'd be happy to know that both options for your piston bolt are just as fast in total travel time (same time as an identical diagonal bolt that would stays at the same height). What matters is that you get every move downward for free as part of your digonal movement.

I'd like to build some of these mega projects (like a world eater for a perimeter), but I worry that a lot of them would tank the server. Does running the quarry or world eaters impede the system for the other players online?

Not for the Scicraft guys... But it depends on how good your server is and how many updates per second it could handle. Also you'd need to keep a lot of chunks active for those things to run. Which strains the server.

Update Suppression farm? Meanwhile 99% of players dont even know such mechanics exists.

I mean a lot of us know about update suppression, it's just that most of us don't need or have the resources or the time to build one. If you play creative, why build one? If you play survival, good luck mining the resources together and then building it. It's ridiculous that you have to force a couple hundred updates to occur simultaneously.

@@TheRealHelvetica update suppression is a bugged mechanic doing is not the only thing it's used for so not exactly a farm
