One question? we celebrate all our festivals according to tithi or moon phase or hindu calendar.. but only makar Sankranti is celebrated on 14 January according to western calendar.. Why?

It seems clear, to tie a lot of threads together, that Makara Sankranti is associated with Uttaraayana, and even equated with it in many parts of India, even named Uttaraayana, is that due to the precession of the Zodiac, which you discuss near the end, Makara Sankranti used to be around the Winter Solstice on Dec. 21, centuries ago, and the tradition has continued to equate the 2 holidays or events, even though they are now about 3 weeks apart.
