#1 Siphon Experiment
When you put your finger over the end of the straw, you trap air inside it. When you release your finger, the air escapes and water rushes into the straw. The water gains so much speed that it doesn’t stop when it gets to the water level inside the cup. Instead, it keeps going through the bend and hopefully out the other side. The falling water pulls more water from inside the cup. But for this to work, the end of the straw outside the cup has to be below the water level inside the cup. This is because gravity is pulling water down on both sides of the bend.
#2 Blow ping pong ball with a straw
This amazing trick works because of air pressure. The air coming from the straw is moving faster than the air around it, and this means that it also has a lower air pressure than the air around it. So the ball is kept within the column of lower air pressure because of the higher-pressure air surrounding it.
#3 Bernoulli’s Principle
The reason for this is that as the student blows through the straw, the faster-moving air over the top of the straw creates an area of low pressure while the pressure on the surface of the water remains unchanged. Therefore, the water is drawn up the straw because of the area of low pressure.
#4 Plug thin straw through a potato
If a straw is used to stab potatoes in normal conditions, the air inside the tube will simply be pushed out in the opposite direction. As for the material that made the straw, it was plastic, so it was definitely impossible to penetrate the hard potato-like surface and bend it down. But if you use your finger to seal one end of the nozzle, the air will no longer be able to escape. The air will compress, allowing the straw to have enough stiffness to not bend, continuing through the potato. The air will compress, allowing the straw to have enough stiffness to not bend, continuing through the potato. But of course, it is with potatoes. If a harder surface is encountered, such as a brick, the air will be forced to escape by breaking the plastic of the straw.
#5 Static Electricity straw and finger
After rubbing the straw with your hair, the straw has more negatively charged particles left on it. This makes the straw negatively charged. When you bring your negatively charged straw near a neutral object or positive charge. Since opposites attract, the straw sticks to
#6 Refraction experiment with straw and water
The light around the straw is bending due to refraction. Light refracts as it passes from one medium to the next because it travels at different speeds through those mediums. Light travels fastest through the air, a little slower through water, and even slower through the glass.
#7 Magic soda cans
The reason for this is that the air blowing through the straw will be faster moving than the air on any other side of the cans. Thus, according to the Bernoulli Principle, the faster-moving air exerts lower pressure and the two cans are drawn toward each other
