The guy who played Larry deserves an Emmy. The book is called IN WITH THE DEVIL by JAMES KEENE. I think the subplot with the guard blackmailing him was added for the show. I found it completely unnecessary. Jimmy would have told Lauren about the guard and the FBI would see to it that he never entered the prison - or any other prison - ever again.

I googled it. You are right. Keene didn't mention it in his book because it never happened. Many other parts are exaggerated for drama. As a whole, its mostly true. (from my research anyway) Can't put my finger on it but Keene just seems not to be trusted. I see narcissism.

I could maybe believe everything else happening in this movie. But the one ridiculous thing that would never fly, especially if the detectives know about it. Is that jail guard trying to blackmail and extort the main guy, potentially ruining an extremely important murder case. Not only would they have fired him, but he'd be arrested indicted on blackmail and extortion charges, and potentially interfering in a murder case. Considering the lady detective already knows about it? At that point anything realistic just flew right out the window.

Is it really that hard to believe that police and correction officers don't get the same treatment as other citizens? That they get a pass, like being able to resign, unless they are caught on video that gets leaked to the public which only then forces their colleagues to slap them with charges? It's pretty naive to think there is no corruption in the system, all the way up to the top.

For everything that is stated above I’d add one thing, the better behavior prisoner get in jail with psychopathic prisoners the suspicion the more suspicion he receives. In case if they would inform the prison all the cover could go down

I’m guessing that the bodies are buried either in the cemetery they worked at or they removed the bones of old coffins and replaced the bodies with victims- I’d guess that the brother and father was involved . If no one figured that out already they just weren’t trying.

That would be too risky and stupid knowing that the family when they visit would likely notice the changes to the grave, and become curious that something isn't right.

@@IgorFranknstn27 They would notice the grass was different? Sorry, But i worked in turf management for over 15 yrs . Golf courses. Its not only easy to do, but thats if you don't use an already excavated plot. It would literally be about timing. Believe it or not. but your comment (although wrong) does highlight another variable to WHY the victims may be in the grave. If the father and sons timed the killings and abductions around the time of a local death/obituary , they would then have the perfect opportunity to bury the victim in a shallow grave and the bottom of an already dug grave. You're like Watson to my Sherlock. Elementary.

I literally finished the season one of this film just yesterday, I cried through some episodes of the film. It can be shocking how some people can be so evil cos the film was based on a true life story. And the name is blackbird.

Taron aka eggsy from kingsman is such a great actor. He’s also the singing Gorilla from the movie Sing. Very talented. Also the story never told us if Jimmy ended up dating/marrying the FBI agent :(

Its possible that the brother or father was involved but all the attention was easily focused on his "black sheep" brother. Yet the brothers didn't seem to trust each other. If the father saw the map, he must have known but it was worse to have the bodies found than leave his son in jail and his confessions suspect without hard evidence

Dude’s getting played by the DA real hard and should have talked to his lawyer. He gets more time than he was told with the plea deal because the DA is trying to punish him for something he’s not involved in. Then the DA dangles a carrot offering promises to the guy like his word means anything anymore while using the extra time spent in jail as leverage to get the protagonist to willingly spend time in a worse prison aka extra punishment with no guarantee of reward.

The writing is so weak, it's full of plot holes, poor logic reasoning connections and extra things (that make no sense in their continual presence) like the blackmailing guard. All to create drama but instead it results in an incredulous rolling of the eyes. so glad I did not watch this.

I don't know if yall are just being silly or not, but yall know that there are several permit to purchase states in the US? That means if you don't have the proper permit to purchase the item in the store, you cannot own it. If it is given to you, that's different. The implication according to the scene is that he did not have the proper documentation for the purchase of his weapons.
