Жыл бұрынWelcome to the second video of the Scooby-Doo-a-Thon! This time we're taking a look at the second Scooby-Doo game released on sixth gen consoles with Scooby Doo! Mystery Mayhem. This one was developed by Artificial Mind and Movement and released in 2004 on the PS2, Xbox and GameCube.
Mystery Mayhem definitely isn't as fondly remembered as Night of 100 Frights and I hardly ever hear anyone bring this up. Maybe we could have a bit of a hidden gem on our hands? Either that or maybe the reason nobody talks about this one is because it's awful? Well there's only one way to find out I suppose!

This game is criminally underrated. It's challenging, got a good Soundtrack, atmospheric, true to the source material, and good plot. Only problem with it is that they hide items into places that you wouldn't be able to find in order to 100% the game. Like the minecart stage, and the Motorcycle level, who's going to figure that out?

Yeah, I literally didn't get all of the items in a single level and I'm normally pretty good at finding secrets in games!

The GBA version of this game gave Shaggy overpowered abilities lol.

While the gameplay for Mystery Mayhem is not very good, I always did like the concept of the gang facing off against real ghosts and monsters. I also really like the idea of The Tome of Doom, though I always thought that it should have had a dark backstory behind it. Maybe an explanation as to where the book was pulling the monsters from, how and why the book is able to conjure spirits, and a bit more lore on the book’s name and infamous history would have helped to add juicier details behind it.

The gameplay is quite basic, but it was still quite enjoyable! Yeah these Scooby Doo games don't really do a very good job of expanding on the characters or story very much do they... Having some more lore to discover like that would have been a really nice touch!

Maaaan this was my childhood favourite along with unmasked! I've bought this game three separate times from CEX and it's never worked. 😫😫 looking at it up on my shelf and knowing I can't play it is horrible.

That's really weird! I got my version from CEX too but luckily mine works! Could it be your PS2 instead of the game discs? My big PS2 doesn't like playing certain games and is really loud but then when I swap to the slim PS2 it works perfectly. It could be some really weird compatibility issue maybe? Unless you're just ridiculously unlucky haha!

I think this was one of the first games I rented from blockbuster as a kid that I was able to beat before needing to return it

Absolutely love this game, I grew up playing it on my GameCube and it’s just got so much nostalgia for me that even if it is subpar at best I’ll always love it

Ahh yes, don't know why I didn't notice this video, but yeah the company that changed their names because Artificial Mind And Movement or as it was also named A2M had the distinction of being slang for Ass To Mouth :D

i love the music, atmosphere, story, voice acting and stuff. the issue for me is that the camera in the game and the controlling of the characters are both fairly stiff.

A lot of people seem to really like these Scooby Doo games! I thought that nobody would even remember them haha!

I can definitely see why. It isn't a game for everyone that's for sure, it's very slow paced which probably isn't what you'd expect from a Scooby Doo game.

All was well until you pronounced the word 'thorough' as 'tho-row'. GRRR :( Please don't go all American! I think you also said "off of" which again makes no sense in UK English. Apart from that, another great in-depth video Rob xx

Wait, how are you supposed to pronounce it? Haha, did I just pronounce it weirdly in this one video? I'm sure I always say that word in the same way! Is 'off of' grammatically incorrect? Surely saying "he took that off of him" or something to that effect still works? You're changing my world-view with all of this :D

@@PixelPursuit the "of" is completely unnecessary. "He took that OFF him" is concise enough. Next you'll be talking about "wait lists" for Christmas game orders!! Thorough is pronounced the same as borough, Wellingborough. Keep practicing, you'll be pixel perfect!! X
