Animatronics > Projections...who's with us?

My older siblings always talked about how great this ride was when it first opened, it was pitch black, foggy as hell, music was loud, lasers were bright as well, it was cold and the ride was fast, animatronics were brand new...good times

If they get rid of the screens, remove the Scrappy Doo part and bring back the old elevator voice line and put Scooby animatronics back throughout the ride it will be great again.

As someone who has a special place in their heart for the original ride, this isn't much of an upgrade but rather a disappointing refurbishment... The projections are so cheap...

The main reason why I liked the original is because they had a laser show on in the main room instead of crappy spotlights

How is the CGI worse than the original 2002 movie.

My it's changed a bit. I was obsessed with Scooby Doo when I was little. I went on this with my family when I was 7, it was a dream come true! The parts I loved were the animatronics of scooby, from what I recall, there was also a flying ghost that roared when the ride picked up speed. That scared me but I loved it. That was back in 2009. Most recently in 2016 we made the trip back, and it still hadn't changed even then. While it looks really cool now and this ride will hold a special place in my heart. It's really nothing compared to my first experience 💙

I grew up watching Scooby-Doo and now even as an adult I enjoy watching an episode every so often.

I feel like when I went on this it wasn’t as dark and I only went on this 1 week before this was filmed

The new lighting is cool, but the new introduction/prelude? What were they thinking? Scooby-Doo has always been an extremely popular ride at Movie World - what was the point of changing it?

Seeing the outside posters newly refurbished and not faded to all hell is such a surreal experience

This ride looks a lot like the Mummy Ride at universal in Hollywood except ours has a family even balance of animatronics to projections.

I remember this. I went on this 5 years ago.

Wow just a lot of extra effort and they turn an ordinary (basically) wild mouse into hell of an experience.

Nothing will beat OG scooby doo coaster, the lasers, thick fog, jungle, animtoronics

some of the stuff in the queue and in the attractions will have been used in the film. I once saw a tour on the internet that they also said that

Even tho the cgi is bad it’s hands down one of my favourite rides. But also the sharp turns always give me serve anxiety like bruh.

I was 8 when the first time I went in this ride, I was extremely horrified lol

The likely reason they got rid of the animatronics was to reduce maintenance issues (namely, reducing cost), the coaster is pretty old these days -nearly 20 years old- and they’re probably reducing the cost so they can run it just a bit longer before replacing it. Unfortunately if a coaster doesn’t define the park they won’t fight to keep it, Superman Escape is likely safe for a long while -assuming maintenance doesn’t get out of control- because it’s pretty much come to define the park at its best.

Okay. What would make it great for people on both sides. Keep the fast pace strobe lights room, get rid of the screens with the crappy cgi monsters, and keep in all the animatronics. That would make it perfect again.

I love the light show/rollercoaster room. I would love to go to Australia someday, and experience this. I just gotta avoid the deadly spiders and creatures in Australia as I make way to Movie World.
