Chad Hoover’s competition for the title “kayak fishing funnyman, Ken Wood of Massachusetts, sat down with Scott Beutjer tonight to break down his 2019 season and what he thinks he’ll need to put a “W” by his name in The TEN record book. [Watch on Facebook]
Ken may be best known, nationally, for an unexpected swim he took in frigid Kentucky Lake waters at the 2018 KBF National Championship. His pedal drive tangled up in a wad of fishing line hung on an off-shore brush pile, and wind-driven currents capsized his watercraft. His PFD and friends who spotted his distress and came to his aid saved a life that day.
Across the Northeast Region, though, Ken is recognized for another reason: he is a legitimate kayak fishing heavy hitter-a consistent top competitor, placing 4th in KBF NE Region AOY standings in 2019. He won the Lake George, NY KBF TRAIL Series Tournament and placed second at E/W Harbors, OH, and he also took top spot in two Pro Tour events: Lake George and Winnepesaukee.
Ken makes his second consecutive appearance this year in Dee Zee KBF The TEN presented by Meyer Distribution at Kissimmee Chain of Lakes, January 31-February 1
