Agreed! I kept a close eye on my oil temp gauge for the first 20-30 miles of those climbs to see if the temps were getting out of control. Luckily, nothing bad happened, and those little 125cc monsters kept chugging along without a whimper! 😉👍 --QM

I remember APC's, but the others were available until the early 2000's. My go-to pain relievers were Vanquish (disappeared decades ago) and Excedrin (went off the market in 2020). 😉👍 --QM

The trailer certainly makes the rear suspension a bit more harsh due to the extra unsprung weight (~35 lbs additional downforce on the axle). Both the front and rear suspension of the Cub just aren't made for this kind of punishment and should be upgraded to better components if the owner has the budget to do so. The Cub's suspension only has 3.9" front and 3.6" rear travel, but that's UNLADEN... so reduce that by ~50% with rider sag. That only leaves ~2-3" of usable suspension throw. Increasing the suspension travel probably isn't feasible, but higher-quality components could control the action better than the cheap OEM dampers. As for the Cub's toilet seat riding position... nothing could help that short of highway pegs or a longer bench seat that would replace the rear cargo rack. 🤔 --QM
