My scooter seat tended to loosen over time. The reason is the mounting pedestal is made from very thin steel, tending to bend away from the clamping surfaces.
I have straightened those bends, then reinforced those critical areas using pieces of angle iron. Lastly, I welded M8 nuts on the outside of the ears for a much stronger fit.
