i have been learning music theory for 10 minutes i got a book 2 books 1 the pink AB guide to music theory part 1 and the blue book part 2 i am using logic pro x to understand what the book means and found the above video helpful its all so complicated i build designed a big rig in lockdown and thought its time to learn i have had these books since 2004

i was studying sound endgenering back in 2001/2004 and these books were recommended i think they are very good books

that's just the US and Europe difference I think. I learnt Quaver being in UK and didn't know eighth note till much later on

Its to me THE BEST when you record realtime music. It just notates rather well compared to sibelius, finale or Dorico. It has all the necessary and advanced symbols for composing a modern symphony, lead sheets, etc. But a PITA when the user needs to edit in general. Things like moving a slur... Man, one just want to punch it in da face. I think apple MUST develop this area as soon as possible. It has a huge potential compared to finale or Sibelius, both of them stupidly stuck in the past.

It's my main issue too. But since I don't find a better solution, I have 2 other solutions: 1. I start the recording and play the whole song on my piano, then I go to the piano roll, I select the notes played by the left hand, copy (command X) and paste them on a duplicate track. I set the first track (right hand) to Treble and the second track (Left hand) to Bass. But I loose the pedal info :( but maybe I can copy the sustain events from the Event editor and paste them on the new track? 2. When it's possible, I mean when the hands don't overlap at any time, I create a kind of split on the keyboard. I create 2 identical tracks, on the first one I set the keyboard from C4 (or the split note) to the top and on the second track I set the keyboard from the bottom to the split note. So the notes played on the top part are notated on the first track and the notes played on the lower part are written on the second track. I set the first track (right hand) to Treble and the second track (Left hand) to Bass. I hope this can help

But looking this videokzfaq.info/get/bejne/p6xjqrxquMeZp3k.html , I did not have idea about the key limit, is this what you say to split piano roll??, cause i don´t know other method to split ..., Anyhow, I thought that with this video could be the definitive solution, so play the treble with the right hand ,setting the key limit to the treble for instance on E3, and for example with a piano,. Below the key limit would be the bass for instance upright bass . So playing yo get the splitting and it records well, but when you stop recording, the bass is on the treble track, and the bass rest as "slave" Logic makes the score BUT, when you do command +5 to see the score to edit, still the notes below the C4 appear on F Clef , so back to the beginning... By other side I don´t know how a machine can understand that you play a note with the right hand or with the left, unless a human sets the parameters ..., I ´m sure that this is the point a have to discover... If I get a solution i will let you know. In the hope you do so. Regards

@@Flabis-piano I GOT IT¡¡ Checked and works well¡¡ I GOT IT¡¡ Look these two pages particularly the second: support.apple.com/kb/PH24586?locale=en_US&viewlocale=en_US support.apple.com/kb/PH24589?locale=en_US&viewlocale=en_US 1.- Open an instrument ( for instance piano). 2.-Second: Play and record the song and remember which is the lowest note you played with the right hand. 3.-Stop record and select the Track. 4.- Go to region and select “staff styles”, this will open a dropdown menu, 5.- GO to down end and select “Open window staff style” (this is my translation from my version in Spanish) 6.- his will open a window where different staff styles are , select piano. 7.-Once selected will open below a G clef and the F clef 8.- Select the G clef configuration go to right end where i t says assign and select split. 9.- Normally as preset i within C4 _ G9 Drag ( no click)the mouse over C4 up and down and you will see that the limit note is moving, Select the lowest note you play with the right hand as limit for the right hand, You will see that the same part of F clef is moving half a tone less than you select on G clef. 10.- Press Command+ 5 and you will see that the staff on G clef arrives to the lowest note you played. 11.- You will see that expression pedal is also as you exactly did. Is possible to create also your own style and rename with a name you will easily recognize. Dear Friend¡ Hope your main Issue, is solved as it does to me.
