Thank you for this!!! I thought my crooked folds were because the scoreboard was messed up. So I bought a new one. Same issue. This video fixed the problem! Which was ME. 🤦LoL!

Maymay...you are definitely the TIP QUEEN!! I always air fold, and then have to fold it again because it isn't straight. I will also, now be scoring on both sides, as well! You're the BEST! Just got the crack on the heavy card stock yesterday when I scored and folded the card... So I used it for a layering piece.. YIKES!!! Will be using this method next time for sure...TFS!!!

Paper cracking when folding also depends on whether you are in a humid or arid environment. I live in Phoenix, which is a desert, and very, very dry. If I do not have a humidifier going nearby, my paper will crack no matter how I score. I did not have this problem when I lived in Ohio or Minnesota, where the humidity is higher. I don't use a special humidifier either. Just the same one I use when I get a cold or a sinus infection. Solves the problem.

Thanks for the tip! It also helps to fold toward the "mountain" side, Instead of the "valley" side.

Great tips Maymay!! I've just started to score on both sides a while ago and seems to help a great deal. Now have to remember, if I forget to score on both sides, fold the card stock on top of itself while still on cutting/scoring board to make sure its even on the cut edge then crease.

I still don't score with my Teflon bone folder, too thick and slick. But I fold to side of scoreboard and flatten the crease like you do😊

I recently ordered some white A2 card bases to save time on Easter cards. The paper inside said to put the bump side of the scored paper on the inside of the card. Have you ever heard there’s a certain side of the scored mark you should fold at?

Fold with grain instead of against grain & will be smoother fold

I have been doing these tips for months but I, somehow, still end up getting uneven folds and cracking when the paper is very thick. Maybe I don't hold the paper down hard enough or maybe I just have to keep practicing. Thank you for these tips, anyways.

I have found for paper that cracks, you score the paper on one side creating the valley, but turn it over and fold on the mountain. This has really cut down on the cracking I have. I always do this with white core paper too
