For 10 years me, my baby brother & his wife hadn’t spoken at all over a silly argument. My dad passed away Jan 14th 2024, then our mom got very sick, she was being treated for hypothermia due to respiratory failure, she was intubated and sedated for a week. When she came out of that my baby brother decided he should at least come see her so he wouldn’t regret not doing so had she not made it out of that alive. In the past 3 months I have gotten really close to my brothers wife and my niece & nephew, now we’ve all spent at least 3 days a week just hanging out and enjoying each other’s company. My family life has really gone through the biggest transformation i ever thought possible. Had you told me I would hear my niece and nephew say I’m their favorite aunt a year ago I would never have believed that. But NOW this is what has happened and I truly truly couldn’t be more grateful to have them back in my life. I have waited and wondered for so long when will I get my family back…..now that time has come and I haven’t felt so much joy, so much love, so much happiness in a really long time. So what I’m leaving behind is all the bs from the past that never really mattered . Although it’s been very difficult with mom being so sick . Even still she’s in a nursing home now, it hit me, all of this was supposed to happen this way.
