LYRICS: Scorpions - Wind Of Change
I follow the Moskva
Down to Gorky Park
Listening to the wind of change
An August summer night
Soldiers passing by
Listening to the wind of change
The world is closing in
Did you ever think
That we could be so close, like brothers
The future's in the air
I can feel it everywhere
Blowing with the wind of change
Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
in the wind of change
Walking down the street
Distant memories
Are buried in the past forever
I follow the Moskva
Down to Gorky Park
Listening to the wind of change
Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams
With you and me
Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
in the wind of change
The wind of change
Blows straight into the face of time
Like a stormwind that will ring the freedom bell
For peace of mind
Let your balalaika sing
What my guitar wants to say
Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams
With you and me
Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
in the wind of change

My boyfriend passed away a couple months ago at the age of 29 due to motorcycle accident... Everytime he heard this song, he recorded it and sent it to me coz when we were together he was surprised I sang this song loudly while we're on our road trip... He's American and I'm a Filipina... 😖 Miss him

This song was meant to commemorate the end of the Berlin Wall; collapse of the Soviet Union, and the reuniting of nations divided between the Allied West and Communist East. The song is still absolutely beautiful to this day and I hope if I ever have kids I get to share this with them. My parents grew up on Scorpions and I grew up hearing it from them.

One song that will always survive the test of time, one thing mankind will always stride for is to break the yoke of strife, suffering, and the remedy always leans towards freedom. Some freedom is just another utopian idea a fantasy another illusion, but for those that lived through such restrictions of being treated as a human being with dignity this song is very emotional and real to them.

This is my favorite group in the World ! I love all music, but and have seen almost every band you can imagine! I love music, it is always in my soul and heart! They are special to me because, I was born in Germany duri g Hitler's war, my Father was in the Army fighting in Germany, saving people, he found my Mother alone and at 16, her relatives were lost and her Mother left, she was so Beautiful and brave. My Father married her and they had me and brought us back to New York, where he was from! I was born at 2 lbs. and still made it! Never met my real Father or remember him, he went off to fight another War! I did find out about him at 16, and found him in the phone book! I tried to go see him, but my car broke down! Came home and later got a letter from his wife he had passed away ! I have his letters, and remember his voice over the phone! So many Unanswered questions! He and my Mother are gone ! I would love to have gone to Germany to see Aunts and Uncles , but I started my own Family! So the Scorpions became advocates about the war, and their songs are about the love of the lead singer and others, split by the Berlin Wall' He was at the Wall when it came down after Hitler's war was ended, many years later ! He writes about that day and sings about it! After years in Military School with my Step Father and Mother, I never saw them much, we moved from Country to Country, State to State ! He was in the Air Police in Air Force' you don't make many Friends after moving every 3 years, we were all lost kids' O dislike when people say you were a Mil Military Brat , believe me, we were far from it! We came to Fresno when he retired! I was 16 and met a lifetime of friendships, i continued to go across the U.S. many times with my Dog Arlo, I lived up North, Berkeley, San Francisco, East Oakland ! Had great jobs, but was born with Crohn's disease which there is still no cure, they gave me steroids for years and a botched operation, I became an Activist, and worked for a Judge, and 3 Lawyers' The job I loved best was working for City Schools with Children at risk! My Favorite Job ever' I had 2 Miracle Daughter's to raise and they make me so proud of the Woman they are and my beautiful Grandchildren' The best ! I am 74 now and so blessed to have had a beautiful little Family' I wish I could see my Grandchildren, still young, but my beautiful Granddaughter, will remember me and I will be watching over them , tjey will hear from me when tjey turn on music and bear

So I've heard this song a thousand times before but never knew the lyrics. But this song was playing in my dreams last night. I woke up and while I as able to identify the song in my head, i couldn't find it because I didn't know the name of the song, the band who played it nor the lyrics to google it. Then, without knowing the lyrics, I tried to play the melody of the chorus in my head and don't ask me how but when the chorus says "Taaake me"... (to the magic of the moment...) I thought the line was "Chaaange of wind".. (tah dah dah...) with that being all I could come up with to try to find this song, I tried my luck and googled "change of wind" and that's how I ended up here. I still don't know why my subconscious would be playing this song even without me knowing the lyrics or even what the song is about, so while I heard it thousands of times before (I was little when it came out), I only listened to it for the first time today.

It's been a year since my father passed away, and I remember him and looked for this song that I used to listen to all the time in his car. When I close my eyes and listen to this song, I feel like I'm with my father. I miss him every day. I want to meet my father even in my dreams.
