Such an amazing song. As a child, I remember it playing at every corner, every store. Yet, it was so hard to find the record - it sold almost instantly. I remember, I asked one guy that sold records 'The song's wonderful. Who sings it?' 'It's Scorpions' - he said. And Scorpions were my favorite band ever since.

Its hard to believe that it's been almost 30 years since the release of this song. I can remember quite clearly, when it came out. It was 2.5 years after I left Germany and tte US Army and we were about year out of the cold war and things were getting better between Russia and the U.S. (which is why this song meant so much to me).

Yeah, it's an amazing and wonderful song. It reminds us of the fall of the Berlin Wall ("take me to the magic of a glory night" (= 9th to 10 Nov. 1989) and "freedom bell". The freedom bell actually rang in Berlin. At the same time tensions between Russia and the US decreased. This song gets a lot of people emotional.

@@klytouch7515 Humans wouldn't be the only species whose extinction we caused if we're not careful. There is no law of species preservation. We are in the middle of the 6th planetary extinction event right now, which is being driven by us. (The last one killed the dinosaurs.) Complacency can also cause extinction. Assuming the problem will take care of itself is often a deadly mistake.

The first one played A Martian Winter by Angel Vivaldi. I added some sweeps with the leads, and the crowd went wild. Never was so proud of myself before. Haha haha. Also got the second best guitar player.

@@clintonreisig So why isn't this live? They certainly had the talent. The OP says singers could actually sing like on the record... because this was the record, as they did in the "glory era" on most TV shows. That's what we're hearing in this video. Klaus' voice is layered and harmonized, Rudi's playing one guitar but two guitar parts (harmony line in his solo while Matthias plays chords), the drums are just stupid studio processed, and the whistling doesn't match the mic movement. They were capable of sounding great live, but they didn't do this live. I wish they had. They were an amazing band.

Scorpions as dads in 1991: Klaus and Matthias both have young children at home. Rudolf has an adult son, a 21-year-old. Scorpions as dads in 2020: Klaus and Matthias have adult sons now in their 30s. Rudolf has two sons. One is 50 and the other is 5 I just find that kinda funny, that's all

Klaus Meine and other Scorpion members Shenker, etc, are so good, it looks like this could be a studio recorded version. Years back, they came to India, and every day, leading to the show, there were quizzes, etc, for tickets. Never won it, but paid every rupee for the show, and happier for that. Legends!

Beautiful smooth groove from the legendary "Bad Boys Running Wild" Solid Rockers😱the SCORPIONS (it's not easy to whistle for a long time like that "Wind of Change": right on Klaus.."amazing!!😘) Fantastic in Concert 1991 live Big Stadium footage on the🌟SCORPIONS: treasure Classic. He wrote these words in his second language too. His lyrics were sometimes awkward because of that, but in this song it adds to the authenticity of the song. It draws me in to the German experience of how it must have felt to see that wall torn down and smashed to pieces, and families rushing across the border to hug for the first time in years. It still makes me cry. And it's just abstract enough that the listener can hear whatever meaning they like, whatever change is relevant to them. It's a fantastic lyric.
