One thing to note is that the engineers confirmed that it has HDMI 2.1 for passthrough.

I've been following OXS soundbar and I'm considering to get it, but I was just wondering if it's better than the Samsung Soundbar Q70R? I saw it on Kickstarter comparing the feature/price with Samsung Soundbar HW-Q900a but unsure if it's as good as my Q70R? The use of the replacement soundbar isn't much for games but Music and Movies specifically, would you recommend it?

Still sounds like a small bluetooth speaker, no sound separation, bass carries over parts where there should be defined treble. Still hard to find anything that is better than a dedicated 2.1 system for a PC sadly.

Still no confirmation that it runs true 7.1.2. Waiting to see a video review that tested and confirmed under PC audio settings in Windows and test Left, Center, and Right channels and see if u actually hear audio from each channel only.

I wondered this too, I checked the video from the top of their kickstarter (www.kickstarter.com/projects/oxs/oxs-thunder-712-gaming-soundbar-with-neck-speaker) and it explains it much better than I can - it does seem to include speakers from the Neck Speaker as part of the 7.1.2 system though.

Bro if it has a dedicated channel for low frequency its the 1 u do not need an external subwoofer to have 7.1.2 😒 many top end soundbars are sans external subwoofer and I guarantee you no one is challenging their math 😉

Definitely the weakest point design wise in my opinion, hopefully it’s something they improve for the final version of the soundbar

Bassy sound? They must have messed something up in the actual product because the bass is TERRIBLE in the product I received. There is no way to connect a sub to it,. Next to my 10yr old Audioengine speakers this thing just doesn't cut it.

No? Genuinely never heard about that channel before, I see that they uploaded a while after myself - so there’s a chance they saw my video or we both used the product spec sheet to formulate our scripts. Although with that said, it’s not uncommon for companies to give script advise depending on the type of collaboration.

First of all, absolutely disagree - it was pretty fantastic, especially at louder volumes. Secondly, keep in mind that this video is recorded with an iPhone built in mic, so of course what you’re hearing is greatly limited by that.

@@ScorpioTech Ah, well, that explains why the audio is so weak and lacking both depth and impact in the review video. It would be nice to have a review that utilizes better recording equipment to convey your live impressions better as just hearing this was not enough to convince me to back it along with not having the neck speakers to test the 7.1.2 aspect at all.

@@wolfgaidin Honestly even with high quality dedicated microphones it’s quite hard to portray accurate sound / bass, not to mention the audio compression through video editing and KZfaq itself, plus even further variation on the viewers end depending on what device they’re watching on. As for the neck speaker its still in the production phase so that’s completely out of my hands.
