I've always found Burt's voice soothing and relaxing. And he has always been such a cool guy - so inclusive of not only other celebrities, but of the common man on the street. Love to shake his hand!

What a great interview.....Burt is nice to people who are nice to him and he has had to suffer a lot of fools in his time I would imagine. This Scot England brings the best of Burt out. So nice to see this. Burt is looking great.

This is an EXCELLENT interview with Burt. Well done to his host! Burt was obviously looking & feeling really good here. Notice his very genuine kindness & generosity re Scott's friend at the beginning of this interview. Burt was like this to so many. Most people don't know this about him. RIP BR

LONGEST YARD the original no comparison a MAN vs a CHILD. He was a half back at Florida State was being heralded at playing for the Colts but got injured and it led to acting. God Bless Burt. The highest Grossing earner making films in the 1970 to early 80s. Ruled the Big Screen. I grew up then and saw his movies saw him on every talk show and he was a part of my life continuously. Gunsmoke, Twilight Zone hour special. DELIVERANCE, SEMI TOUGH, W.W DANCEKINGS, GATOR, SMOKEY, THE END, STARTING OVER etc. Very special guy

I loved the movie called Starting Over, Candice Bergen Jill Clayburgh , Charles Durning , and of course Burt who played Phillip Potter.

BOTH his co-stars were nominated for an Academy Award. I believe the screenplay was as well. It was a travesty Burt was not nominated as well. It was one of his best work and not spoken about enough.

The End was hilarious and a very clever movie. It showed some of the hypocrisy we all are willing to commit in the name of survival. Smoky and the Bandit and Hopper were just plain fun. And Deliverance was a chilling look at the harsh underbelly of America most people don’t see. The Longest Yard also a terrifically entertaining movie. Burt did it his way and he did it very well.

Damn, he had to go 50 years back to name a movie he is proud of! He had all the clout to make anything he wanted but he chose Smoking Ace!
@coldwinter57105 жыл бұрын
He's had, many, many movies in between to be proud of. But yeah, that "Ace" movie...he did instead of doing "Terms of Endearment". He said he didn't think he could ask (one of his best friends/director) Hal Needham to wait until he was done w/the other picture. WRONG! The part that ultimately went to Jack Nicholson was written specifically with Burt in mind! (Same screenwriter that worked w/him in "Starting Over"). That Oscar had Burt's name on it! In turn he made one of his worst movies w/"that blonde". (Another WRONG!) I heard Burt say, "He could never watch "Terms of Endearment", it was too painful to think about". RIP BR

he must be wearing dentures
@coldwinter57105 жыл бұрын
Burt was seriously injured on City Heat that broke his jaw in several places. He suffered greatly w/TMJ afterwards for a long time. One dentist who tried to fix it, & failed miserably, ground down all his (once perfect) teeth. He then had to have all of them capped and re-fixed by another dentist. I am sure this caused him many more problems 20+ yrs later as that kind of work doesn't last forever (like your real teeth do!). So dentures at this point, most likely. That one mishap in his career changed his life forever. He suffered greatly from it in very unexpected ways. RIP BR.
