It is definitely a very fun adventure!

The fourth puppy is a male sable merle named Cookie and the blue merle is a male named Star.

They are scotch collies. Basically a working type rough collie.

@@sentimentalbloke185 Scotch Collies are a landrace breed, they are a "type" rather than the result of a closed genetic breeding group, like Rough Collies. Scotch collies can have blood from Rough Collies, English Shepherds, and other herding breeds. There are at least two registries that I know of, the OTSC (Old-Time Scotch Collie Association) and the SCPS (Scottish Collie Preservation Society). These are merit-based registries and new dogs must meet a list of criteria to be entered into the stud books. Puppies born from two registered parents, or a registered and an appendix parent, will receive puppy registration, but must also be evaluated at a year old to receive their adult registration. New dogs must be one year old before applying for full or appendix registration. I opted to wait to apply for registration with OTSC with my home-bred dogs only, so will need to wait until they are a year old before they can be evaluated. I am much more interested in breeding good quality dogs than in pieces of paper, though. I think the modern breed clubs have severely harmed a lot of dog breeds an in fact driven them to the point where they may not recover.

@@maplesugarcollies Thank you for the detailed response. I haven't seen these dogs in Australia although we have a breed (type) called a Koolie which is a herding dog also. It varies from place to place depending on the livestock it's working & the climate. local conditions etc. Looks like something between a kelpie & a heeler. Your dogs are beautiful BTW.

@@sentimentalbloke185 A scotch collie would be along similar lines. They can have a range of appearance and temperament within the general type, depending on where they are and what work they are being bred for.
