@@Callumet United have 3 midfielders that are better in the attacking half of the midfield (Fred, Mctominay, Eriksen), and have one CDM (Casemiro), and Casemiro keeps getting red cards so you can see how desperate United is for a backup cdm which in turn would leave dangerous options off the bench. Long-story short how tf did United play without a true CDM for all these years. Crazy

I listened to the BBC commentary and similar observations were made about the ref. The sending-off seemed unnecessary; the game was as good as over and it was a minor infraction.

As a youngster his position was a striker. Wish they would shove him up front for a half, just to see how he gets on. Still Adams and dykes do a job for us. Glad they chose to play for us.

That's cause a lot of games he gets forced to play too deep, he's far better in an attacking role than a defensive one. Same with Fred But for some reason coaches always play McFred as a defensive midfield pair and both of them play better going forward

​@@MrSquigeon that some reason was the absence of a proper fit defensive midfielders for years, and other midfielders were not workhorses who would occasionally sacrifice their attacking game and play those roles. Both of them are are decent no8 substitutes, great professional attitude, almost always available, high workrate squad players, it's not their fault that the owners and Woodward never backed managers and gave them a top quality CDM to start.
