Last night was the most negative display by a scotland team I have seen in years. Abysmal and we deserved nothing. This is on clarke ,he's murder.

The way he approached this game is unforgivable

No cutting edge, big players didn’t perform well enough and Clarke was found wanting through the entirety of the tournament really. Shankland warming the bench, Forrest left out, McLean ending up at left back when Taylor’s sitting on the bench? Same old movie we’ve all seen before. Did the team peak a year ago? Is the consistency of the English media saying we are crap becoming a self fulfilling prophesy? Should they employ a younger manager out of Scottish football?

"A one goal game", "a one goal game", Clark kept saying afterwards. So you play 5 4 1, pass sideways, take zero risks and look scared all the time??? Is that how you think your "one goal" is going to happen?? The LEAST he should have done is throw Shankland on at half-time to replace one of the central midfielders (or even defenders). Too stubborn. Most European nations (outside the élite of course) would love to have several English Prem players in their line-up. Romania had NONE until very recently and the current squad have zero Euros or WC finals experience but they stand a chance of progressing because a) they have a formation and organization that works b) they have a positive attitude c) they don't fear anyone (especially lesser teams!) d) they take risks Every sportsperson knows that no risk = no reward. Clarke should have learned that lesson from the last Euros, been humble and admitted he was too cautious and LEARNED from it. But no, he chooses to feel sorry for himself and blame the "football gods" instead 🤦🏻‍♂️ PS Robertson, McGinn and Tierney looked generally timid. This is a suggestion. May not be the case: Robertson: his mind didn't seem on it: because he was distracted by the manager change at Liverpool with Klopp - who he's close to - having left? McGinn: was his mind on Villa going to play in the Champions League next season so subconsciously his priority was to avoid injury? Tierney: not taking risks either. Was he distracted by worry about where his career is headed after his loan spell is ended and he's at something of a loose end? But Tierney is the classic example of something you dread happening (so you hold yourself back) actually happening in the end anyway so you should have just gone for it! It's all between the ears. Albania, Georgia and Romania are performing miles better and with more courage because they have nothing to lose and everything to gain!

You are right lads, the fans really deserve better. Robbo looked shame faced in the post match interview. Steve Clarke seems almost delusional in his detachment from the reality of the situation, blaming the referee etc. Very poor. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Scotland should be given special permission to play 15 players per game so they can compete more fairly.

Are either of you guys aware that we had a player on the bench who averages nearly 30 goals a season for his side? You seem to be as blind to the quality of Shankland as Steve Clarke. This is like if Norway kept Haaland on the bench.

Im amazed how many folk saying it was a pen and Clarke was embarrassing focusing on that . Armstrong was more interested in playing for a pen than trying to score. Pathetic. They lost based on his terrible team selection, letting the defensive half make such a silly amount of pointless passes in the wrong direction for a bloody hour and remotely threatening the goal. They absolutely blew it.

As a German, I can only say, don't put your team down too much. Scotland had qualified for a championship of the best European teams. There must always be some who are eliminated. Even and Germans have been knocked out in the last 10 years in the preliminary round. The group was more difficult than you thought before. Switzerland and Hungary were stronger than you thought and losing to Germany can happen to any team. After all, Germany is not 4 times world champion and 3 times European champion for nothing and has been in finals dozens of times or was in the last 4. There is still a lot to do, especially in the tactical area for Scotland. Maybe Scotland needs a young foreign coach who puts everything to the test. What remains is a great Scottish fan community, who have done a lot of good advertising for their country and now look at the next World Cup or the next European Championship in England

The problem with Scottish football these days is most of Scottish premiership teams have far to many foreign players. Bring back the good old days when Scottish players were at the forefront of the premier League so they're were more good Scottish players to pick from these teams .

Clarke has to go. Since the qualifiers, he has sucked the confidence, passion and belief out of the team. From day 1, the next Manager must concentrate on playing further up the field and defending from the front. The possession was in the 70's'% the most a Scotland Team has ever had, with no shots on target, that says it all about Clarke's tactical ability.

Great analysis guys. So glad I didnt watch it. Very very disappointing. Yes injuries went against us and we dont have strength in depth but last night was so naive. Tactically Hungary were streets ahead despite similar level of skills. Had to change it half time to have any real chance. How many coaches do you need? To produce that performance is poor from both the players and staff. Steve C is getting paid big bucks. To stay is to reward failure.

Ralston McGregor and mcginn were absolutely awful. Imagine playing a fullback who has only played nine games for his club all season. Against the likes of Livingston Dundee Motherwell ST Johnstone etc etc. way out of their depth outside Scotland. As Celtic results have proven. And he still insisted playing McGregor who passed the ball sideways every time. We should stick to our own little farmers league here in Scotland.

Always said we would lose by a goal which we did in end ..We did not perform and if we played as we did v Swiss we would have won as Hungary were not good either .though had most chances , but we did not have any chances really s we made none . This needs looked at lack of creative chances ..As for subs terrible Forrest never came on at all in three games when being form player for Celtic end part of season .
