Scotland's first minister has scrapped the power-sharing agreement involving the SNP and Scottish Green parties.
Both parties had been in government since August 2021 and support Scottish independence.
Humza Yousaf says his party will return to minority rule with "immediate effect".
It follows the Scottish government's decision to scrap key climate targets.

Never did, never will. You vote for the politicians that then vote for the head of government, not like most presidential systems that keep parliament and the president pretty separate (unlike the US/UK/Germany/Scotland) where you vote for the president directly (like in France). Scotland and the UK as a whole are modeled pretty similar in this regard where MPs/MSPs have all the power.

Devolution is supported by Scots. So it is here to stay, and more popular than the union. But it is not perfect, the politics in both Holyrood and London need to improve. But between devolution or the union, the union is less popular and less needed, people in Scotland want some powers in Edinburgh not London. Full London rule in Scotland was a failure if 70% of Scotland had rejected it.

Devolution is brilliant. I'm pro union. England is so Westminster centralised by power. Even London mayer has minimal spending powers. If people want to save the union we need less centralisation. Potentially even federal.

@@KarakuraNinja If you agree that some people are more Palestinian than others due to their ancestry and historical connection to a land, then logically there are also people who are more Scottish than others due to their ancestry and historical connection to land. If you're no longer a toddler then you also will know that two wrongs don't make a right. You don't punish one group of people in 2024 because of something other people did in 1945. That would be like you serving time in prison now because your great-grandfather punched someone in the 1930s.
