My DNA came up17% Norwegian and I have no known ancestry from there going back several generations. I guess the Vikings really got around.

I got mums DNA done years ago and Norway 10% is the only group that has increased with the updates. She is a MacNeill though, so it was somewhat expected. Kiwis here.

Lots. Dublin was a slave market for the Vikings for example. Vikings were the norsemen who raided. In fact to say they were vikings is kinda wrong. Some norsemen CAME as vikings (raiders), others came as traders and others came as immigrants, estableshing as farmers and fishermen. My iwn country Portugal have had in its past history norsemen who came as vikings but also norsemen who came as immigrants who established themselves in some regions on the coast and left a cultural impact on the region, namely in traditional fishing shipbuilding.
