5P55 from Coton Hill to Crewe H.S. features yet again, but this time with a twist!
Normally this move should it run is a loaded test run with a steam locomotive, a rake of carriages and a locomotive at the back. Today though, it was different!
How different? Very, it was Mark 2 DBSO 9707 from Locomotive Services Ltd leading a rake of Mark 3 carriages with 47712 "Lady Diana Spencer" propelling at the back, all of which was repainted very recently into the ScotRail retro livery. Having seen this livery in person now, I think it looks awesome!
You'll notice the video starts just as the train begins to pass my phone's camera, it had made up ground following its departure from Shrewsbury and I was only just getting ready, so it was a bit of a surprise! I did know it was running though, otherwise I wouldn't have filmed it!
It would not be the only train of interest I'd see at college today. About 50 minutes later while in class I saw 0Z30 pass by which was a light move in the form of two Network Rail Class 37's numbered 97303 and 97304. So yeah, decent day for trainspotting today I must say.
