Chilling and warming at the same time. Although only one quarter Scottish, I feel whole when hearing this stirringrendition.

Next to Alex Beaton this is the best version I've heard. This woman sings this song like it should be sung - with a sense of power and force. Not like all other verions I've been listening to who sing it like they're afraid to get the words out or sing it like their first love song - good heavens! We're Scottish!!!!

I've read this melody formed the basis for Land o' the Leal (as sung by Andy M Stuart) and I can see the similarity.

We shall drain our dearest veins but they shall be free. A day until we are pulled from the EU against our democratic will. But Scotland will be back as an independent nation, a European nation. Saor Alba Gu Brath 🏴🇪🇺

So you're quite happy to break away from the UK only to then hand over your independence to the undemocratic EU? And you were not dragged out of the EU against your silly will Scotland had a UK wire vote on EU membership - and fortunately enough people could see through the charade which is the EU and voted to leave - many Scots too. The SNP are not even real nationalists to begin with, they are globalist pseudo nationalists at best and they don't speak for Scotland - only for the SNP and her fanatical followers who don't realise they are being played fools of. And the EU with its puppet parliament will not be here in the 10 or so years along with their wretched single currency. Brexit was the best thing we ever did 🇬🇧

The tune was based on a Scottish pipe tune played at Bannockburn, he tutti tati
@MegaJacko4 Жыл бұрын
It's highly unlikely. Battle of Bannockburn was in 1306. Bagpipes were not introduced to Scotland until the 1400s. They didn't start playing pipes on the battlefield until 1648.
