I understand what Adams is saying. At Walmart last week I was behind a young black mother with her kids. Her card was declined. She didn't have junk on the conveyor belt. No chips, sweets or soda. Just real food to cook for her family. She told the cashier her student loan money should've been there. Nursing school. This was my sister standing there!!! . I was her 25 years ago. Looking at what I could put back. I watched her do the same. I discreetly paid for her stuff. $47. She wasn't on a shopping spree. We exchanged numbers because nurses have a special relationship with one another. After she walked away, I was bombarded with racist comments from the cashier and a black woman behind me. It was horrible. "You feel good that she couldn't pay!! Makes you feel superior doesn't it! We don't need your white ass helping us!!" Neither the cashier nor the black woman behind me offered to help this young mother out though. This type of treatment makes white people hesitate to help and or advocate.

I'm a 64 year old black woman. Sorry, but I don't take offense to his statement. In fact, there is truth in what he says, and a lot of other black people know it. It's why many of us move to the suburbs when possible.

I'm white. I grew up in the hood. 100% of the racism I've seen in my life was aimed at me and other whites, not the other way around. Adams is absolutely right.

We left Mississippi when my mother died and won’t go back. The city she lived in was 85% black. The roads are AWFUL. The water cannot be consumed because their sanitation standards are so low. The street my mother lived on had 4 burned down houses that were used as drug houses. My mother kept her yard mowed, planted flowers and kept her house painted. She paid for iron bars on windows and doors for her safety.

As a brown man I feel the same way as Scott Adam. BLM destroyed my uncle's shop which made him almost homeless overnight. Yet they're not punished for any of their transgressions.

57 year old white guy. I’ve lived all over the country. Midwest, East, South, West Coast. I’ve known white people of all walks of life. True racism, in private when there’s no black people around and you know you can say anything, is extremely rare. It’s not socially acceptable, for one thing. I'm a bartender in a very busy establishment, with plenty of black patrons. I'm a full size adult white man. Honestly 75% of black guests are rude to me from the get. I can win some over, and maybe push it to 50% but have to "kill them with kindness" to get a similar response. Common courtesy, and social graces don't exist. It's cultural, and obvious that these folks are taught to not like me. (We won't talk about tipping percentages)

I’m a 74 year old white woman and I watch your channel all the time. I do remember when I moved to Chicago from Iowa I was surprised by the animosity there based on color. Let’s all get real. I don’t know what it’s like to be a black person but I do know what it’s like to grow up a poor white person. There’s prejudice on both sides and that creates hate and division which politicians are encouraging presently for their own nefarious reasons. The politicians are manipulating people into identifying with their “group” based on color and gender. They want people to feel victimized and divided. It makes the politicians more powerful and we the people certainly less powerful. What a distorted reality.

White, male, born '75; I took this position about 15 years ago. In the 80's I was told that I needed to understand minority issues, and I tried. I just listened and read extensively about the narrative of being a minority in America. In the 90's I was told that I would never fully understand the racism problem. I looked long and hard at myself for what are now called; unconscious bias and microaggressions. In the '00's I was told I could do nothing to alleviate racism/sexism in America, despite the fact I felt the "White/Minorities" relationship had taken 3 steps back from the 70' and 80's. In the '10's I checked out of the conversation. No more protesting, no more petitions, no more activism. I own one property, I own no businesses, I hold no political or judiciary power (on any level). I have no power or authority to deny or provide (for that matter) ANY human being their Constitutionally protected rights. *Plainly speaking; First I was told what I needed to learn, then told I wasn't able to learn, finally told I can't be a part of the solution as a (by default/born this way) member of the majority. I'm White, I'm heterosexual, I'm male...and as such, my opinions, perspective, and efforts are meaningless to the struggle. So fuck it, I've got better things to do. Good luck though.

I was an actual member of a mostly black church, my husband and myself...we are white...I always sat in a certain area of the church and next to the black friend who had invited us to visit...a genuine friend...after a few years I, without thinking, reached out to the young woman behind me, with whom I had said good morning, and hi, how are you etc. for years...I reached out and touched her arm, as one does in conversation sometimes and affectionately as one does to a friend or close aquaintence, when I touched her arm, she almost gasped, she withdrew her arm, and quickly covered the area I had touched with her hand...AS IF IT WERE BURNED OR INJURED! I felt like a knife had been thrust into my heart. At that moment I knew I could never be loved as another Christian there. Still hurts when I recall it.

As a white woman, I grew up in Southern California & was threatened regularly because I had blonde hair. I was threatened with having my hair set on fire! Racism happens to white people, too.

White guy here. I grew up in the hood. Lived there my entire adult life up until my mid 20s, right across the street from a Crack house. I cant claim the culture because I'm not black, but I grew up in it, with it, surrounded by it. Grew up idolizing black people in the media, in sports, in music. Now I'm 30 and I teach art at an inner city high school, and one parent claimed I'm trying to be a white savior because I push her kids to succeed and I don't put up with some nonsense. To the point now where I'm changing schools because I'm tired of these kids AND the parents, when they show up or respond to my attempts to contact them, thinking they're gonna try an intimidate me, parents who accuse me of being racist because I hold their children to a high standard and don't put up with no bullshit, kids threatening to call in their people to "handle" me after school. I don't want to be a white savior, but I sure as hell wish someone from the black community would stand up and try to be a black savior, because the culture, in my experience and what I've seen, is destroying itself.

I graduated high school in 1987. I saw firsthand black classmates verbally (and sometimes physically) attacking other black students who studied hard, spoke without slang, and got good grades attacking them as “trying to act white”. Some of those attacked gave up and caved in to the pressure. Some managed to stay strong. Two of those who managed to stay strong went on to have respectable careers. Both have multiple degrees they honestly earned through hard work and study. One started as a police officer and is now a high ranking detective. The other started as a public school teacher and worked her way up to university professor and now university Dean. Imagine how people like Fredrick Douglas, Bass Reeves, and MLK would feel seeing how many black people talk and behave today.

We lived in the hood for a few years, and remember my 8 year old child going next door. We lived in apartments, so next door was 1 foot away, and he asked to play with the neighbor child. That mother started screaming at him to stay away from her kids. Her kids weren't allowed to play with white boys. He better never come back, ect.... My son was 8. He just went to his room and cried. I would never in my life treat any child like that. She wasn't the only one who acted like that about their kids playing with my child. I understand there's been a lot of injustice, but don't take it out on the children.

I lived in “culturally diverse” neighborhoods for most of my life. After moving to an area of Florida that was 87% white, i noticed no trash on the streets, no loud obnoxious behavior, little to no crime and it was awesome. I remember waking up one morning and realizing I had forgotten to lock my front door. Freaked me out for a second but then I realized how much improved my life was.than in my old “culturally diverse” neighborhood. I was constantly having trash thrown in my back yard from my “culturally diverse” neighbors including dirty diapers. My crime was being white, employed and friendly. Mind you this neighborhood was white before the city started taking the Section 8 money.. As long as I can help it I will never live in another “culturally diverse” neighborhood. It simply isn’t worth the aggravation.

I live in the Atlanta area and have experienced nothing but respect and kindness from black people, except for one man at the store who looked at me like he wanted to kill me. However, it is my belief that only intelligent, good-hearted black people like yourselves will be able to change the hearts and minds of the black people who hate us. I am Asian. Im doing really well now.. but i started out in poverty. I've lived in "white trailer trash" areas, Hispanic barios, run down "china towns".. and black ghettos. The only time I felt danger and racism by the local population is with blacks.

I’m a white saxophone player. In the late 1970’s, as a 13-17 yr old, I used to play in jazz clubs and bars, and hangout at night in Compton, South LA, Willowbrooke, Watts, Florence… NEVER ONCE had any problem. Ever. Everyone was cool with me, and dug that I was playing their music seriously, in their neighborhood. Lots of barbecues. Then 1983 happened, and the gangs ruined everything as far as the music scene goes, but I still hung out some. When it got really weird was with the advent of Rap Culture. It was now cool to be thuggish, intimidating, sloppy, with a chip on your shoulder. A complete 180 degree change. The glorification of thuggery and replacing Integrity and Respect and Dignity with making everyone fearful of you. It’s not about race, it’s CULTURE.

I grew up on an Indian reservation. After having two vehicles stolen in as many years, house broken into. I got the hell out of there. That was 26 years ago, I moved to a predominately white neighborhood in the suburbs. I have had zero incidents. On the reserve people would just toss garbage everywhere too, it was a mess. Nowadays I get called a city Indian or an apple (which is actually a favorite) red on the outside and white on the inside.

The dude with the red hat on the right side is always in deep thought when I watch these videos. He always reflecting and taking it all in with understanding that we as a black community have fallen apart. I see the sadness in his face.

I’m a 64 yo white woman. My son had a best friend who was black in grade school. Nicest kid and people would call them twins because they were the same height a very similar build, same head shape and hairline. It was funny how similar they looked. We moved and they moved. Our closest contact was Facebook. None of us posted much but we kept tabs on each other. my heart broke when I read his post about how bad white people were when he was in his 30s (about 10 years ago). Broke my heart. I messaged him and said if I had known how he felt unloved, dismissed or unimportant around me/us I would have spun the world around, if I had to, to show him he was so dear to my/our hearts. He wrote back privately to tell me it wasn’t me or our family he was talking about. He loved us and respected us. What a comforting thing to hear, but it isn’t what he said publicly. It probably came from a place of hurt too. We have to be careful with our words, and when we’re puzzled we need to reach out and get it straightened out. Keep talking. God bless you

I hate to say it but I feel the same way Scott Adams does. And I used to be a super liberal guy. I was in two long term relationships with black women. There were periods of my life when I was around more black people than white people. But over the last 5-7 years, events in my personal life and events in the larger cultural landscape have made me simply want to disengage from black people/culture. I'm so tired of it. I'm tired of whites being demonized and blacks being championed. I'm tired of blacks and other groups openly celebrating and expressing pride in their culture when I'm not allowed to do the same. I'm tired of how you can't even criticize blacks for any reason whatsoever even if the criticism is totally justified. You just get sick of it eventually. It just reaches a point where it's like: "do your own thing, I really don't care." Also, Scott Adams is right about the violent black crime thing. And he only scraped the surface. There are rapes and attacks of white women and girls by black guys with some regularity. And some of it is just brutal. When you read some of the articles and see some of the footage, it just changes you. A few times a month, I'll see some cases of really extreme stuff. Look up Daisy Paulsen from a couple years ago. 14 year old white girl stabbed many times by some random 24 year old black dude. Why wasn't that covered in the mainstream media? Why is George Floyd famous and Daisy Paulsen isn't? Once you start looking into that stuff and seeing the other side, there's no turning back. Black sins are hidden. White sins are put on blast by the media and the education system. It's obscene. It's evil. And I know I can't be the only one who's aware of this and who's sick to death of it. I mean, just look at the videos Tatum showed of all those black people completely shitting on white people. And they get celebrated for it!?!?!? Not only by blacks but also by stupid, asslicking, liberal, whites... It's insane. It's good that there's reasonable black folks out here but, generally speaking, it's rough. As an Italian with almost black skin that was treated poorly with racism from white people as a child I totally understand racism. Things changed over the years until recently.... There is a HUGE racism comeback aimed squarely at white people.... Very sad and shameful.....

It's exactly what I tell my daughter (we're in Decatur, 30 minutes from FtW), "Stay away from them." Because if somebody is rude or racist to my daughter I'm going to jail. I give up, idc anymore. I won't live around it and I won't raise my daughter in it either. Especially black women.

As an old Black man who grew up in the South in the 50's and 60's, you young men are such an inspiration. Your videos are so addictive because you are able to discuss crucial issues and see from all sides. Your videos should be required curriculum to watch in schools. I grew up in the "hood". We called it the "ghetto" back then and I have seen racism from Blacks toward Whites and Blacks toward other Blacks of different cultures and even skin tone. You ever heard of the "brown paper bag test"" referred to in Louisiana? And yes I have seen racism from Whites, but are all Whites, racist, nope, most of them are not. Are all Blacks dangerous to be around, nope, not the ones that I associate with. So as some of you stated in the video, it comes down to how you are taught, your family values and what your exposure is and as was also stated economics plays a big part. And the biggest thing that was said, If you are a true Christian, you can't hate anyone. We have to stop judging people as a group and treat individuals as they show you how they want to be treated individually. You guys are always so right on. Keep on producing guys. You are going to blow up and influence so many in such a positive way. Thanks for the perspectives you provide.

I went to my local mall with my teenage daughter recently. While in an area of the mall that was mostly vacant, a couple of young black males got with in a couple feet behind us saying vulgar things. There was no one else in that area, no reason for them to be that close to us other than to intimidate. Not going back to that mall.

I love this channel. As a nerdy white guy who grew up with many black friends, it was hard seeing the way they were influenced by culture, and even harder seeing their true selves being suppressed by the expectation to act a certain way. These expectations and culture often led to self destruction and a hopeless path. Thank you guys so much for having open minds. Stay strong.

I'm an older white male who grew up in a primarily African American part of Oakland, CA. I did experience some hatred my first year there, but it went away over time. That being said, my defining experience came when I purchased my first home and started a family. My neighbors were both black, but were completely different. My neighbor to the South remains one of the kindest neighbors I have ever had. We remained friends for years after I moved to another state. The neighbor to the North not only tried to prevent the sale of the home to a white person, but they also refused to say a word to me in the seven years I lived there. If they had a complaint, they walked past my home to Calvin's home and told him to let me know what they had a problem with. The lesson I learned from my experience is that color means nothing about who someone is. Unkind people, for whatever reason, come in all forms, and that is who we should stay away from.

i understand what Adams means because my experience being married to a black women and being a pastor in a black church. i experienced for over 20 years of hate, anger, deception towards me from my black relatives in how they talked and treated me. also, when we had holiday meals and events all they did is talk about white people all day long. i have so many experiences over 20 years dealing in the black community that i also want nothing to do with them. you also need to know that 2 of my best friends are black guys that i have known over 30 years and we talk on a weekly basis and they have taught me and helped me with this area. We love one another because of what God says about his creation. love you guys

I was born and raised in California. My parents were Spaniards. I was picked on in school for only having a Spanish surname. Can you believe, my best friends were black? I went jogging with them. We had great times together. I even learned Karate in their neighborhood. Even in the 70s my best college friends were Blacks and Asians. I was able to retire and move to Spain. Now I think back about the good old days and at times I cry. I was blessed to have such friends. Unfortunately, my nephew moved into a black neighborhood in Riverside, thinking there was nothing wrong with that. The next day he received threats to move-out. Within days he was beaten and sent to the hospital. He ended-up moving to Arizona. Since the racial incident, he became very racist.

I was invited to a big party that my black, and closest, friend was having for his Mom's 60th birthday. I was the only white person there. A few of us were standing in a circle outside, chatting, when my friend made a derogatory remark about white folks: "Well, you know how they all are." Then he caught himself, and they all got a nervous "oops" look. I wonder where that came from, huh? Some years later, my sister threw a big party for my birthday. She invited her best friend, who is also black, to the party. None of us made any such remarks, nor could we have, because we're not people who think like that. And if one of us by some strange chance did, the apologies would have lasted well into the night. I got no apology, nor even acknowledgement, from my friend who made the remark about whites. It hurt, but I had to conclude that he simply didn't have enough class to just say..."my bad".

This isn't even average black person's fault, it's the culture that's been created around the community and the fact this culture is also being endorsed and accepted by the black community.

I'm a 62 year old white woman and have spent my life being nice to black people TRYING to so show that I am not a racist and have some black friends but I have several times had a black "friend" turn on me because of other black people getting in their ear and they end up mistreating and turning on me. I have never mistreated people. It is disheartening.

I know...How about we send them a check every month for free. Maybe even a debit type card to buy food at no cost to them. It can be a generational thing so whole families will never have to worry about work. We can even give them preferential treatment getting into college, shame companies into hiring them even if they're not the best candidate or incompetent. To top it off will give them a whole month to celebrate themselves!..................oh wait..........

I not only saw the original video, but the follow-up video and the written statement on his website. Adams knew what he was saying was provocative and knew that as emotionally charged as all this is he could suffer for it. But he stood on principle and anyone who has followed him for a long time would know he's not racist in the least, but sometimes the truth hurts.

I am a 65 year old white guy as well as a retired law enforcement officer. I have to say the CartierFamily is one of my favorite reaction groups. As a girl scout leader most of my troop was black girls. And most of them were being raised by other family members instead of their parents and they always thought i should be doing more and more for them versus my white girls. I live on a super tight budget because i choose to homeschool my children. They would get mad at me if i didnt pay for everything out of my OWN pocket. Once my daughter got her Girl Scout Gold Award in scouts , i retired. I have never been as abused by parents or guardians in all my groups (Leo,4H,Cub Scouts ,girl scouts,homeschool coalitions) as i was in the Girl Scouts. It has soured me on ever volunteering as a youth leader again. My children saw this and they no longer have a wish to volunteer with youth either. Its heartbreaking. 😢😢

I've always known how Black people feel towards me. Almost got jumped several times, by many Black girls that can't confront one on one, for eating lunch with a Black coworker at a dairy queen in their neighborhood. We stopped eating lunch in certain areas

Being white when I worked on an all black shift I was accused of many things. I was accused of cutting the toes off of someone's great great great great great grandmother, I could not cook for get togethers because I could not cook, I could only donate to black charities cause those were the only ones who were in need, on and on and on. Color will always side with color, even if they are wrong. When someone accuses me of prejudice I always tell them I learned what it was by working on an all black shift. I have known white families that moved into black neighborhoods and were threatened for being white constantly till they had to move. Im old and this stuff is still going on and I am so tired of it. Im so tired of it.

Fellas, I dig what you guys are doing. I’m a 50 year old white dude. I grew up in a small town in California and had a big group of friends of all races. I didn’t understand racism until I went out to the real world on my own. This shit that’s happening now is absolutely crazy. This life we have is so short and it’s so sad that there are people out there that waste these limited precious moments of their life hating another person because of the shade of their skin. It’s just so very sad. Yes, there are ignorant ass white folk out there that are racist. But I guarantee you that the overwhelming majority of white people have nothing against anyone because of the color of their skin. This racism shit must stop. Otherwise, society is screwed and we will never be able to move forward. You young bucks doing are doing something important here. Keep it up, gents.

You guys are cool for talking this out and actually putting some thought into it. Growing up, I was in a very white suburban area and my best friend was one of the only black kids in the school. I'm sure that was tough for him, but I never heard him say or see any direct racism towards him based upon his race. Quite the opposite, he was super popular. But still, I didn't walk in his shoes, so I don't know. After HS, I've had much worse experiences with black people as I moved to the city. It was mainly due to being robbed a few times face to face and getting beat up so badly once by some black guys, I spent 3 days in the hospital. Even after this, I never thought about race or being angry towards black people. However, in the last couple of years I've found myself avoiding black people altogether like this Scott Adams guy and it makes me sad. I think it's mainly because of the hate I sense black people have towards me because I'm white. There's something going on now and it's real. Life is too short to deal with this race crap for me.
