The slideshow was spectacular. The "blend modes" workflow is the most convoluted PhotoShop-specific fluff I have ever encountered. Thank god for Lightroom presets.

Hi Chris: They are "Layer" Blending Modes, so go to the Layers panel (in either program), and near the top of the panel you'll see a pop-up menu that says "Normal." Click and hold on that and all the Layer Blend modes will appear. They've been in Photoshop since version 3 (Not CS3, I mean Photoshop 3), so they're sure to be there. :-) Hope that helps, and thanks for watching my class. Cheers, -Scott

Say you'd set your focus, using an external flash would it be possible to capture a moving object with a ND filter. Example, you want the silky effect of water in a stream but you wanted a solidly focused person jumping over it. cheers

Where is the "Plus, you'll learn the easy way to shoot and process panoramas that work every time, some realistic HDR travel techniques, along with some clever ideas for showing your work when you return from your trip." that it say s in the description? Apart from that a great video once again. :)

agree... but most of the other presenters B&H uses are good: Jeff and the guy from DxO and the one hosting the artsy lighting seminar and the one talking about night photo are very good too (well... actually i would say most of B&H's seminars on youtube are awesome except those few ones in which all the presenter was doing was to showoff how great his photo career WAS and how cool it is shooting film ONLY)

It's possible, but with a long exposure, you would have to decide when the flash fired. My thinking would be to fire it manually when your subject was in the spot you wanted. Cameras trip a flash at the beginning of the exposure and have the option to switch it to the end portion (2nd curtain) or at the middle. C h u c k askbh{at}bandh{dot}com

Shooting in .jpg throws away a lot of information. If you're serous about photography raw is the only way to shoot. Shooting in .jpg can never make as good photos as raw. The difference for you is that you need to know how to edit. l Dehaze will also darken the sky. So will the polariser app in many programs. l Your blurs are half of the Orton effect.
