I have a Royal maroon 2091 sea wonder works perfectly I use it for a catfish reel One of my favorites. Got it on a Shakespeare medium heavy 9' surf rod. There's s No ocean in Kansas lol

Wow!! Sea - Wonder in a box, with spare spool and drag knob big E-bay $$$$$ bucks there, My sister lives in Hayward CA. , might have to visit her and see what I can come home with!!!

The plastic bumper for the Penn 712 will work for the langley.

Dennis, you know these are all my kind of reels! (Except the Langley) I have all the Sea wonder Shakespeare spinners. The gray ones can often give a lot of problems when trying to remove the pinion and ball bearing. They have a tendency to rust. The maroon Sea Wonders don’t seem to have that much of a problem. I’d love to have a copy of the manual! I hope you can get those tiny set screws loose on that Mitchell 302. I think I have 5 of them. I have never cared for the Langley reels. I have two of both the Daiwa 2600C and the 2500C reels. My favorite will always be the 7000C (3 ball bearings). You cannot beat a Shakespeare 2062 with that worm gear drive. I got two of them when I first started collecting. Scott got some beauties this time! Maybe he should collect all the Daiwa silver series like I did. (Twice over.) I join others in wishing Scott a great holiday season snd thanks for sharing so many reels with all of us this year! - Chris

Yes, those Shakespeare reels are nothing like the modern named ones. What work horses! I look forward to working on them.

Dennis, I recently bought a Jigmaster 500 off of ebay. I was doing some research online and read that you shouldn't use more than 8 pounds of drag in fear of damaging the gear sleeve. Is this true for the older designed Penn reels? Maybe a good topic for a video. Thanks

I am not aware of any issues associated with the gear sleeve and max drag. If you can send a link to the article, I will review. It just doesn't make sense. Dennis
