Ryan, I guess I have a different take on it than you. For the most part Nov. thru end of April I don't feel that it's humid at all. I guess it's a personal point of view thing and what you're used to. Having lived in the NE for a bunch of years, and even though I've been here for quite a while, I'm loving our weather.

You'd probably be bored as it's more of a retirement community.

Vero Beach is a whole different vibe than Miami or Key West. We're pretty light on restrictions. Best suggestion is to plan to visit for a few days and see if Vero Beach area is a fit.

I live here and it's one of the safest places in the Nation.

If you enter Riverside Park from Rt60/Beachland Blvd and go past the Riverside Theatre, Art Museum and come to a stop sign make a right (towards the river). You'll come up to a small round about near the entrance to Memorial Island and will want to make the first right there. The fishing pier is about 3/4 of the way down to the end of this road (there's a round about at the end). You'll see a statue/art piece of a dolphin which is colorfully painted which is just by the entrance to walk onto the pier. Happy fishing!

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. That's probably a Manatee that pops up. This was shot at Round Island Park which is at the very southern end of Vero off A1A. I find this to be the most likely place to spot Manatee .... but I'm pretty sure there are no Gators there.
