Exactly. Even though it might be more lucrative for him to use it, not everybody wants to ride family coattails. He's a great wrestler but if he did use it and gained a following how is he to know whether it was because he's good at what he does or if he owes a lot of that success to his name?

When they did it to Eddie's daughter years ago, it was because they thought she would flop out of the company and they didn't want her tarnishing the guerrero name on WWE Programming. However with Bron, I think there's a good chance it has more to do with the fact that historically things between WWE and the Steiner family haven't been the best. Him being "Bron Breakker" means they don't have an obligation to acknowledge him by anything more than as a "2nd generation superstar"

Thats gonna be tough for him to do when he sounds like Scott when he's pissed off. And his current heel run doesn't help, beating the shit out of everybody like a Steiner would(but without the flexing). We know he's Scott's nephew, but its silly that he doesn't use the Steiner name. He can still be his own, look at The Bloodline. The Usos & Solo arent known as Rikishi's sons. Rock wasnt known as Yokozuno's cousin, etc.

I mean I'm a Breakker fan for 1, followed his career in NXT....my only issue is with WWE in that why they dont book him on some of the wrestlers that are his size?🤔 Granted he's a big boy, I get that point....but everyone he's faced has been a little guy

I think it is for two reasons for the name. One is they are wanting him to show he can make it on his own with out the Steiner name or they do not have the ability to own the Steiner name.

They give names because it means they own it, and the wrestler can’t take the name with them if they leave. It’s why Cody couldn’t call himself “Cody Rhodes” for most of his time outside the WWE.

Look, 1st off..everyone knows about the issues between HHH and Scott. But sure that "should" be water under the bridge, right? So why did they take Bron off Smackdown after 1week, 1st pick or not, just to make him a heel. Btw, does anyone remember what he said he wanted to do when he got to the main roster, when he was still in NXT? They knew what he would've done as a face. Especially against the Judgement Day's already done in crowd

But than there are Rocky Malwia, Ted Dibase JR., Henry Smith (son of British Bulldog), tamitha snuka who have their family name and didn't succed in WWE. The Rock only after the Name chance. And of course you have the ones like the Uso's, randy savage, bray wyatt and roman reigns who didn't use their family names as in ring name to be succesful. So the argument that it would be better isn't true at all, depends on the wrestler. If Bron wouldn't be as good as he is than it wouldn't matter what he is called. Also it sets him apart from the steiners brothers and makes all his archivments his own and not something he got because of his name.

i think Bron Breakker is good for what it is, a play on "bone breaker", also there is power in the start of each name beginning with the same letter, Scott Steiner worked as a name because it follows that naming process with use of 2 S's. both wrestlers names feel related even without the use of the Steiner name aswell, having the second names both ending in er there is still that feeling of relation between the 2, it's more nuanced.

If I was Bron Brekker personally I wouldn't wanna use the Steiner name. Scott Steiner seemed cool in the late 1980's at WCW. In the late 90's and early to mid 2000's Scott Steiner was a pompous asshole. Who has been arrested for a number of things. So who would wanna carry the name of the uncle when that relative 's last name has a bad reputation?
