A (non)quick look at the Pyle PCO875, which is billed as a power sequencer, conditioner, surge/spike, protector, regulator, and filter. It is indeed one of those things.

Ngl, I would still buy this for the right price, I already own a power conditioner and surge protector, so just having the sequencer alone would make me happy. Not sure if $119CAD is a good deal or not, but I'm also not sure how much a good power sequencer would cost. Overall, even though they lied about some features, I'd still say it's probably pretty decent for what you get

Let’s see … *IF* I were a lawyer in addition to having an electrical engineering degree… The closeness of those solder joints to the (grounded) chassis … form a rudimentary *_”spark gap”_* to shunt surges (sort of). 😀 That actually surprises me. MOVs are cheap! An EMI filter costs a *little bit* more, but for a device this pricey ... ??? The heat on those wires, though … unless that was *silicone* insulation, which is rated 200° C., you’d be lucky if they were rated 105°C. (if they were THHN conductors). Also, the purported suitability for _”stage”_ use … I would have put a breaker on each outlet. You wouldn’t want an overload/short on one device item plugged in to trip the breaker for the entire circuit, including all 10 outlets! Another thing, I didn’t see if that 12v power supply board had a thermistor _”resettable fuse”_ on it or not. Were I designing (some would say _”over-engineering”)_ it, I would have added some protection there, too. One last item, putting a *_switch mode_*_ power supply_ in a _”power conditioner”_ could be asking for trouble. I might have put a scope on the AC line to test for EMI from that thing chopping up the power willy nilly!

Wow! I have just discovered this channel by looking for a review of the Pyle PC0875 and Scott did not disappoint! Best in class review as far as I am concerned, well produced, comprehensive and honest, unlike the manufacturer's claims for their product. I fully appreciated all of the technical detail and temperature measurements. How do I get Scott to review every product I am considering _before_ I buy?

Not even a "box o' MOVs" for protection, what a rip.

now I would really like to know about my pyle PS1200, It's actually all there, I screwed it open, at least there are some fuses and varistors in there that should provide surge and overload protection. also the overall quality of the wiring and usb inputs is way better then the 875. but I have minor knowledge of electronics so i can only verify that it's all there.. I'm really wondering about the quality/ if it REALLY protects my gear. could anyone help me out?

For the cable, you don't have any calipers? If not, you can get some plastic ones for as little as $4 or metal ones for about $10, I don't use them often, but for how cheap they are I'm glad to have them when I do need it.

Appears to actually be a Pyle of Lies, not as advertised. Personally would not prefer line conditioning within the unit because they will eventually fail. Brown/black outs of the power utility service, surges will eventually take out the line suppressor(s) sooner than later IMO. Individual line breakers would have been nice along with individual outlet power indication and the ability to disable individual outlets. although the price would be much higher. The USB power was added because much of the works was already present, kind of gimmickry, yes. Overall appears to just be a fair value.

This appears to be a Pyle of Crapola. The "thick" power cord appears to be mostly PVC with approximately 16 gauge wire in it, the wires going to the two always on outlets appear to be 18 gauge as Scott said it was and the USB is only meeting rating up to 100mA. This reminds me of a USB cable I bought once that appeared to be about 18 gauge telling from its full size but it would only send about 350mA at five volts. I cut it open, it was almost all PVC with the actual conductors being about 30 gauge. After that one I started buying either Anker or RavPower USB cords and they work as advertised even though they appear to be thinner than my eBay special cord from the total thickness including the PVC jacket (both will easily carry two amps at five volts DC).

THANK YOU So.... Much! I just cancelled an order on Amazon, as after just seeing your Amazing Video, I could now see what I would Really Get = CR*P, the product is advertised as "WANXIAO VS-1028 10-outlet Rack Mount Power Sequence Controller Conditioner Surge Protector Supply Regulator LCD Display USB Interface" it is exactly the same as in your Vid but with a different Badge! You are a life saver, as I need a "Power Conditioner" as will be running Dj Equipment from a Generator in a Marque, so if I had of Used This a lot of my Kit would have been Deep Fried Chinese Style haha MANY... MANY... THANKS AGAIN

No, most power strips (which is basically all this is) almost always have a circuit breaker built in for overload protection

It would have been interesting to measure/ compare the voltage input voltage to the voltage out under some decent load to see how that distribution circuit board held up. Good luck.

It is exactly a pyle of crap. its not a conditioner by long shot, rear panel plugs suck. within a week one of rear plugs stopped working. infact the usb plug and read out voltage are only thing that work after 2 weeks. we bought out of curiosity and its confirmed by this guys video and soon to follow others.
