For tanks, asap get exalted with Tol Barad faction. The trinket is BiS till firelands and situational after. Its the only thing that lasts for the entire expansion for tanks.

Thanks a lot for the great content! Is the idea that the spreadsheet will be customizable to each individual players professions etc? Like for instance if it was a dynamic sheet that could factor in your desired professions (including whether somebody would want to do any archeology) and then output the most optimal path of rep grind based on what items will be obtainable for your choices?

This is how a fresh endgame should be. I think this xpac has the PERFECT faction setup. You can earn meaningful progression with good rewards while leving, and no super obnoxious daily quest grinds. It gives each zone importance thus making all of them relevant, and decent gold earning potential that isn't just mindless "stand here in this small area, fighting other players for tags and kill the same mobs over and over" or play the auction house game.

I loved cataclysm, if you wanted to just do pve, all you had to do was pve, no doing quest lines, no fucking about with irrelevent side shit like exploring or anything. If i wanted to get more gear in pve, it required me to do pve. It's just kinda of like DUH

Silly question, I've changed my stone keeper shards into commendations, should i hold on to those and then use them in the prepatch? Or just them until honor cap and bank the rest? not sure if the commendation honor changes scale differently to the flat hoor -> honor point changes

You forgot a few items from archae. There's the cloth robe, the mail helmet, the agi 1h axe and the str 1h sword.

Tbh there is no reason to choose Vashj'ir over Hyjal. You only get a tiny amount of earthen ring rep from Vashjir, versus tonnes of Guardians rep + the Hyjal chain is required for unlocking the Molten Front dailies in the Firelands patch.

When cata first launches, anything with hit will be BiS for casters until they get hit cap. So that Wild Hammer 346 ring having almost a full 1% hit will def be something they chasing.

Hunters aren't on the spreadsheet, I assume they're the same reps as rogue?

Good guide BUT lets not pretend anyone will actually get the archaeology weapons from Tolvir, they are exceptionally rare, FAR more rare than the mount or the 2hander from Trolls etc. I had over 1500 Tolvir solves and never saw any of the Tolvir epic weapons on retail. And it's stories of people needing near 10 000 solves to get them, and the mount is about 100 solves on average and even that takes a long time.

Hopefully shoulder enchants are account bound and not char specfic...

Cata was the first xpac where epic items of the same ilvl as rare ilvl items weren’t given more stats… it was the death of epics actually feeling more “epic” than rare or uncommon items… but I still loved the xpac.

So much overthinking. Since we currently have a Cata speed run on the Whitemane private server, there is a much easier way to go around gearing. If you are lvl 80 start hitting dem battlegrounds for the 352 ilvl pvp gear. This will probably be more important for dps specs since good luck getting into dungeon queues. Boomkins, shadow priests and ele shamans have an easy time getting the hit % up since they can convert spirit into hit through talents and the ele shaman 4 piece pvp ability gives charges to lightning shield that give your earth shock a boost once you reach 9 stacks. Healers can also go on this route since healing dungeons is rough at the start without gear. Doing arenas or converting some valor into conquest would also be helpfull since you cannot guarantee getting head/shoulders until ZA/ZG and the hour of twilight patch at the end. TL;DR: Farm honor points for 352 ilvl gear, pick up some tabbards, then switch to normal/heroics for justice and valor farm. Add some conquest points if head & shoulders are lacking behind.

Whilst solid advice, I feel like alot of your commentary on getting crafted epic items over rep rewards a bit tone deaf, these epic crafted items are going to be a small fortune. I guess this just re-enforces the wow token paypigs mindset.

cant wait for players to join raid and full clear all bosses in 2.5hours or less.... than all the prebis and rep farm will no longer matter especialy 2 or 3 weeks into the raid... Just level your toons guys and do archeology its fun xD No need to rush anything. Instead make some gold with proffessions and sell those pots and flasks to raiders or craft em some epic gear/ make them darkmoon cards and than u can just buy all bis gear in gdkps xD or buy gametime instead so you can slowly gear up while waiting for the worst expansion ever MoP
